I. Introduction
************************************************************************

Hello. This is my first attempt at writing a walkthrough for a game, so
if it is less than stellar, forgive me. Xenogears can get difficult for
anyone from time to time, so that's why I decided to write this. I
tried my best to keep this walkthru spoiler free, so don't worry first-
timers. If you notice anything that I have left out, gotten wrong, or
just have any comments, positive or negative, feel free to email me at
[email protected], and I'll give you credit for whatever it is.
It might take me awhile to respond, but I will get back to you as soon
as I can.

III. Character Info
************************************************************************

This section explains a bit of info about the main characters and their
deathblows, spells, and gears.

Note on Deathblows: To learn deathblows, use different sequences of
buttons similar to the deathblow in battle. Doing this will increase
the percent of the deathblow that has been learned, until it becomes
100. However, using deathblows in battle will not count towards this
total. To use the deathblow, you must have the minimum required AP and
the required level. If you learn the deathblow before having either of
the prerequisites, the deathblow will stay at 100 percent learned until
the requirements are met. Some of the 7 AP deathblows are an exception,
but they are handled in the game.

Note on Gear Deathblows: How many Gear Deathblows you have depends on
how many Deathblows the Gear's owner has. The exceptions are Siebzehn
and Chu-Chu, since neither Maria nor Chu-Chu have Deathblows.

                             Fei Fong Wong
                        ------------------------

Fei will be in your party for a majority of the game. He isn't the
best character, but he is well-rounded enough to make up for it.

Gear: Weltall, Weltall 2, Xenogears

Weltall is much like his owner, well-rounded. Keep it upgraded, and it
won't let you down. Weltall 2 is much better, due to it's powerful
gear options. Xenogears is the strongest of the three, but it loses
Weltall 2's gear options.

Gear Deathblows

*These attacks require that the gear have the Deathblower item of the
same level equipped.

Gear: Heimdal, Fenrir

Next to Weltall 2 and Xenogears, Heimdal and Fenrir are the best gears
in the game. Later, Fenrir can equip a sword, which makes it even more
powerful.

IV. Disc One Walkthrough
************************************************************************

I've tried my best to keep from putting any spoilers to the story in
this walkthrough, so I don't describe any of the scenes in detail. When
I give directions, I prefer to use the compass. Since you can rotate
the screen, left and right are no longer useful because most of the time
each perspective can be different.

At the top of each section, I've made a list of the monsters that can be
encountered in each dungeon and the surrounding land types, and the
treasures found in each area.

The monster stats are for one individual monster, and I have them set up
like this:

Monster Name HP Exp Gold Treasure Special Info

I have the treasures in each area sorted like this:

items/gold character items gear items

After the intro, info, and a short scene, you come upon Fei painting in
his room. You can check each of the paintings to get a close up of
them. Check Fei's bed to find his stash of 200 gold. Leave Fei's room
and head to the western room. Check both barrels for an Aquasol each.
There is also a spider web in the corner near the door. Jump up to get
it, it will come in handy later in the game. You can talk to the maid
in the northern room to see a scene of how Fei came to Lahan. Head
upstairs. Talk to the young man, Timothy, for some info on what's
going on in Lahan. When you try to leave, a boy named Dan comes in to
talk to you, and then leaves. Follow him out, and head to the field
behind the house. Talk to the old man there four times for two more
Aquasols. Then go to the house south of the one you came out of. Here
you can learn about different aspects of the game, such as the battle
system. Talk to the bald man, and listen to his speech about
Deathblows to get 80 gold. You can also talk to Lucca from Chrono
Trigger, but if you listen to her info on the Memory Cube, she will
take some money. Leave here and go east to the next house. In this
house, you can get the RPS Badge by beating the man in the corner 5
times in a row, but this is harder than it sounds. When you play him,
if you win, you get 50 gold, but if you lose, he takes 50 gold. There
doesn't seem to be any real pattern to his choices, so you will have to
rely on luck. Also, if you leave the screen, the count resets, so you
have to do it all at once. You can go downstairs and speak to an old
woman who will ask you what you think of Lahan. If you reply that you
like it, she will give you 120 gold. Leave the house and go to the
well. Jump in, and you will get an item. Keep jumping in until you
get an Eyeball, Aquasol S, and Power Ring. Then talk to the woman
next to the bearcow north of the well. Tell her what she says doesn't
sound strange to get the fifth Aquasol. Head east to the house with
the woman in front. Talk to her to gain entry. Go in and head
upstairs to talk with Alice. After talking with her, leave the house.
The house north of Alice's is a bar. Enter and talk to the man in the
blue coat. Tell him that drinking won't solve his problems, and he
will give you the Mermaid's Tear. The house west of the bar is the
town general store. That's all there is to find in Lahan. You might
want to go to the World Map and level up to at least level 4 before
heading up the mountain trail. You can also try to get some Fencing
equipment to help lessen the damage. When your HP gets low, you can
rest in Fei's bed to heal. Also, if trying to get the RPS Badge made
you lose your money, you can sell some of the Fencing equipment to
get some more. After you're done, head up the north path out of town
to go to the Mountain Path.

Bird Egg
Spider

Head north to see a save point and a signpost telling you which path
leads where. Go north to get an aerial view of the path. Take the
east path and follow it up to where it turns near the tree. On the
east side is a treasure chest on a small ledge. Jump up to get it, and
it's an Aquasol. Go back to the save point area, and look at northwest
at the rock with a tree on it. You can walk up the light colored path.
Go up to the tree and jump up in it to discover a bird's nest. You can
choose to take the egg or leave it there. If you take it, a mother
bird will follow you around. It will occasionally ask you if you will
give the egg back. If you do, it will take it and fly off. If you
hang on to it, she will peck you for damage. If you take the egg to
Citan's house, his wife will cook it for you, and Fei will gain weight.
This has an upside and downside. More weight means more attack power,
but it also means you lose speed. Whatever you choose, go back down
and take the west path. Follow it to where it breaks. Talk to the boy
to learn how to jump across, then do it. Cross the bridge, then walk
under it to find another chest with another Aquasol. Go back up to a
tree next to a big rock next to the signpost. Jump up in the tree to
find a spider. Touch it and press X to catch it, it will be useful
later on. Follow the last of the path north to go to Citan's house.

Aquasol
120 gold

You get an aerial view of the Doc's house when you enter. Go to the
east side of the house. Jump behind the flowerbed and turn around and
check it. You will get Midori's Ring. This isn't a normal item, as it
won't show up in your item list, but it will be important later on. Go
back around to the front of the house again and go up the stairs. Open
the south door and a chicken will come out. Check around the door for
an Aquasol. Continue upstairs and go in the door. Climb up the ladder
and you will be next to the telescope. You can look into it for a view
of the surrounding area. Jump out near the smokestack and check it to
find 120 gold. That's all to find here. Go inside and talk to Citan's
daughter, Midori, and his wife, Yui. Yui will tell you that Citan is
in the shed behind the house. Walk to the shed's door to get a scene
with Citan (if you brought the egg, Yui will cook it for you). After
the scene, go inside and check the yellow box for another scene.
Afterwards, you will leave the house, and night has fallen. Go back to
the Mountain Path. Cross the bridge to begin a scene. After it's
over, follow Citan back to Lahan.

                           Lahan Under Siege
                        ------------------------

When you get to Lahan, a scene begins. Eventually, you will get into
your first Gear battle. The Gear's help mode will tell you the
controls of Gear battles.

BATTLE (Gear)

Musha Mk100 x 2
HP: 150 x 2
Exp: 180
Gold: 100
Treasure: none

This battle is easy. Use 30 fuel attacks and they will die quickly.
After you win, the scene continues.

After the scene is over, you are on the World Map. Walk to the
northern part of the forest to find the entrance to Blackmoon Forest.

Aquasol x 2 Arcane Rod
SurvivalTent

You are shown another aerial view when you enter. Make your way to the
south side of the forest. Look for a medium sized rock next to a rock-
type hill with steps and a giant tree laying sideways on it. Jump on
the rock, then jump to the step, and work your way to the tree. Walk
on the tree until it is over another tree. Jump southwest to the lower
tree and grab the white bag for an Aquasol. Then make your way to the
Hob-gob near the trunk and roots. Watch it jump upwards, then follow.
When you make it to the top, fight the Hob-gob. Follow the path past
the save point to another tree on its side with a Hob-gob in front of
a boulder. Fight the Hob-gob, then get out of the path of the boulder,
or you will take damage. Follow the tree west to the next section and
a scene, a battle, and another scene. When it's over, you will be in
the next section with Elly in your party. (When fighting Hob-gobs, use
Elly's Thermo Cube spell to kill them for Hob-Steaks. They can be sold
for money later. If she runs out of EP, then work on learning her
Deathblows.) From the tree, head southeast until you see a signpost
which shows the path up. Follow the path to another signpost. Take
the south path to watch three Hob-gobs jump away from you. Follow the
one that jumped southwest, fight it, and then get the treasure, an
Arcane Rod. Jump southeast for another bag with another Aquasol. Make
your way back to where the Hob-gobs jumped away, and follow the one that
went south. Fight him, then jump down near the save point and the
treasure, a SurvivalTent. (Before walking over the slab of rock,
de-equip Elly of her items. She will leave after the coming battle,
and she won't have them when she comes back.) Walk across the slab and
you will get in a fight. Afterwards, there will be a scene. When it's
over, follow Elly southwest to save her. You will fight the Rankar
Dragon on foot at first, and after about 5 rounds, there will be a
short scene, and you will finish the fight in Weltall.

BATTLE (character/Gear)

Rankar Dragon
HP: 480-600 (?)
Exp: 348
Gold: 0
Treasure: Scales

Turn on your booster. Use 30 fuel attacks and level 1 deathblows. He
should die before dealing too much damage.

After the fight, there will be another scene. When it's done, walk
southwest to find the exit and one more scene. When you exit, you will
be at the edge of a desert on the World Map. Head west to find Dazil.
Before entering Dazil, you should level Citan up to level 10, and work
on learning Fei and Citan's deathblows. If you need to heal, use
Citan's Sazanami. When finished, enter Dazil.

Desert:
Sand Man 50 60 75
Sand Shark 111 121 0

A scene and aerial view green you when you enter Dazil. As Citan
suggested, you should first head to the Ethos workshop. It's the dome-
shaped building in the southeast part of town. Enter for a short
scene, then talk to the man near the shelf to learn that they can't
help you. Head back to the north part of town, and you will see a
buggy sitting there. Walk to it, and Citan will get an idea. Before
you enter the rental shop, you can buy supplies or sell some items.
Across from the buggy shop is a man surrounded by tires. He will sell
you weapons/armor/accessories. Southwest from the rental shop, near an
archway, is a man behind some boxes. He will sell you items. Across
from him is a bar/inn. Enter to see a scene with a man named Big Joe.
When you are finished, head back to the rental shop and enter. Speak
to the man behind the desk to rent a buggy. Citan will leave, and you
will need to go after him. Exit the town, and walk west on the World
Map to begin your search for Citan.

Aveh Soldier 60 75 35 Aquasol

After walking west a bit, you will enter a desert and see two gears
hopping past you. Follow them. You will see a scene, then two more
Gears. Follow them, too. After a few screens there is another scene,
then you fight two Gears.

BATTLE (Gear)
Trooper x 2
HP: 150-250 x 2 (?)
Exp: 360
Gold: 500
Treasure: Extra Ar

These gears aren't hard. Use 30 Fuel Attacks and Level 1 Deathblows.
After they go down, more scenes follow, then another battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
Wyrm
HP: 200
Exp: 1044
Gold: 0
Treasure: Eyeball

The Wyrm has a very high defense, so if you have any EP, use Fei's
Guided Shot spell. If you run out of EP, or you don't have any, use 10
Fuel Attacks and Level 1 Deathblows. Watch your fuel, because the Wyrm
will steal some fuel for each attack you make. After the battle, there
is another scene.

                             Aveh Transport
                        ------------------------

Aveh Soldier 60 75 35 Aquasol, Rosesol
Aveh Corporal 60 75 40 Leather Hat

SurvivalTent Leather Vest
Rosesol
Extra Ar+1

After an anime scene, you will wake up in a prison cell with Citan on
an Aveh Transport. Talk with Citan and eventually he will ask you if
you want to sleep. Choose "Good Idea" for more scenes. Soon the
transport will begin to sink. First, head east and enter the room next
to yours for a SurvivalTent. Then, head west past your cell to another
room for a Rosesol. Keep heading west and fall down a hole to the
engine room. Head east, climb the ladder on the side of the engine,
then head west for an Extra Ar+1. (In the battles in this area, fire
from the engine room will hit everyone for some damage, so watch out.)
Head back to the south side of the room, then climb up some stairs to
the catwalk. (Watch out here, parts of the catwalk floor will break
away, making you have to jump over them.) Follow the catwalk to
another ladder, picking up a Leather Vest along the way. In the next
room, make your way around the boxes to another ladder. When you get
to the top, you will have to climb to the top of the crane. It's
much easier if you rotate the screen a bit first. After you make it to
the top, there is a scene and a battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
Brigandier
HP: 800
Exp: 0
Gold: 0
Treasure: none

Brigandier will use Wild Smile on you, decreasing your evade and
accuracy. Just use 30 Fuel Attacks and Level 1 Deathblows. After
about 800 damage, you both fall into a cavern.

Gold Nugget IronG Whip

Following some scenes, you and Bart will have to find a way out of the
cavern. In the southwest part of the cavern there is a giant boulder.
Examine it to have Fei and Bart push it out of the way. After a short
scene, grab the nearby treasure, a Gold Nugget, and head southwest to
a tunnel. (To help with learning deathblows, have the character you
want to learn walk out of his gear and the other character stay in his
gear. That way the enemies in battle will mainly concentrate on the
character in the gear while the other learns deathblows without fear
of dying.) Follow the tunnel to another cavern. Walk across the land
bridge until it splits. The gear here will give you some info. Take
the west path until you see some ledges. Jump on them to get an Iron
GWhip for Bart's Brigandier. You can't do anything with the sensor
near the treasure yet, but keep its location in mind. Go back to where
the path split and head south. You are shown a house. Head to it.
Enter for a scene with a man named Balthazar, or Ol' man Bal. When the
scene is over, talk to him again to learn how to exit the cavern. You
can also get more info from him, and buy items, gear parts, and upgrade
your gears. When upgrading, it's usually best to buy an engine with
the highest output, the frame with the most HP, and armor with both
physical and ether protection. However, since Ol' man Bal doesn't have
that type of armor, buy the best of what he does have. When you're
finished, exit and head north. Jump up to find another land bridge and
tunnel. Follow them to a ridge above the beginning cavern, where one
sensor is. Examine it to turn it off. Return to where the other
sensor is, and turn it off also. After you've turned the sensors off,
return to Ol' man Bal's house. He will lower the barrier for you.
After the scene, you can exit this cavern. Before you do, it is better
for you to level Fei and Bart to at least level 22 so they can begin
using 6 AP deathblows. You can also use the above method to teach them
more deathblows. There is a very difficult battle coming, and their
gears will need these more powerful deathblows. This is the perfect
area for this since when you gear HP gets low, you can go to Ol' man
Bal to repair it. When finished, leave the cavern through the barrier
exit. Head south until you see an elevator and gondola. Exit your
gears and enter the gondola. When you get to the other side, go to the
red switch on the generator and turn it on. Head back to the elevator.
Get on and examine the switch on the northwest corner to go down. Head
to the canyon, jump in, then jump up to the south side of the cavern.
Take the elevator to the next cavern room. When you enter you will see
a big gear flying around the ceiling. Jump down and it will attack
you.

BATTLE (Gear)
Calamity
HP: 2500
Exp: 0
Gold: 0
Treasure: none

First turn on booster. Then have Bart cast Wild Smile on Calamity to
stop its normal attacks from hitting you. Use 30 Fuel Attacks and the
highest level Deathblows you have. Try to make this battle end quickly
because Calamity has a rocket attack that can cause around 500 damage.
When you deal about 2500 damage, Calamity will go down.

After a scene, head to the southeast side of the cavern. Jump up to
the highway and enter the tunnel to exit.

                               Yggdrasil
                        ------------------------

After more scenes, you will be in the gear dock of Bart's ship, the
Yggdrasil. You can enter the building to the north and talk to the man
behind the counter to upgrade Fei and Bart's gears. When finished,
head to the north side of the dock for the door. In the hallway, the
east door is unoccupied. The room north of it is the Medical Bay. The
west room is the crew quarters. Talk to the man in the brown coat to
rest. In the hallway again, the door on the north side leads to a
meeting room/shop. Talk to Maison to buy items/accessories.
Downstairs is two more unoccupied rooms and the way to the engine room.
Back in the hallway, the west door next to the tree is an elevator. Go
up. In the upper level, the ladder leads to the deck, and the door
leads to the bridge. Head to the bridge and talk to Sigurd to go to
Bart's Hideout.

Sand Trooper 500 1050 1000 C Circuit+1

                        Iron Whip

After some scenes, you will follow Maison upstairs. The north door
leads to the residential sleeping area. The east door leads to the
planning room. The south door (with the note on it) leads to Bart's
room. Go in for an Iron Whip. The west door Maison and Citan went
through leads to a shop/dining hall. The west passageway leads to the
World Map. Follow Maison and Citan into the dining hall for a scene.
After it's over, Citan and Bart will head to the planning room. You
can talk to the little girl near the door for a short scene. Talk to
the woman behind the counter to buy items/accessories/gear parts. When
you're done, follow Bart and Citan to the planning room for another
scene. After the children take the elevator down, go into Bart's room.
When you try to leave, there is another scene. Afterwards, head back
down to the entrance of the Yggdrasil. When Bart asks to talk to you,
say "Sure" for another scene. After that scene, walk past the
elevator to the catwalk. Follow it to the Hideout's gear hangar.
Jump up to the catwalk surrounding Weltall and talk to the man in front
of it for more scenes. After their over, head to the sleeping area.
Talk to the man in the brown coat east of the door to rest. After
some scenes, head to the elevator and head down. There will be a
scene, then a battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
Sword Knight
HP: 550-600 (?)
Exp: 1500
Gold: 300
Treasure: Extra Ar+2

Not a hard battle. Have Bart use 30 Fuel Attacks and Level 1
Deathblows, and have the other two gears use 30 Fuel Attacks. He dies
quickly. After the battle, there will be another scene and then
another battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
Aegis Knight
HP: 700
Exp: 1500
Gold: 300
Treasure: Extra Ar+2

Also not hard. Use 30 Fuel Attacks and Level 1 Deathblows. He's
nothing to worry about. After the battle, there is yet another scene
and battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
Wand Knight x 2
HP: 650 x 2
Exp: 3000
Gold: 400
Treasure: none

These gears are a bit tougher, they have a beam attack that can deal
about 300 damage. Use same strategy as last two battles to finish them
off. There is another scene and battle after this one is over.

BATTLE (Gear)
Claw Knight
HP: 600
Exp: 1500
Gold: 300
Treasure: Extra Ar+2

This gear's a wimp, too. Use the same strategy to finish him off.
There's a short scene and then the last battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
Schpariel
HP: 4640 (?)
Exp: 17890
Gold: 1700
Treasure: Beam Coat

Schpariel's about as hard as all the previous fights combined. His
attacks can deal some moderate damage, so watch out. Turn on your
boosters, and use 30 Fuel Attacks and your highest level Deathblows.

After the battle will be more scenes. When you are in control again,
head to the Yggdrasil bridge and talk to Sigurd to leave the Hideout.
You are now in control of the Yggdrasil. Head southeast to Bledavik.

Sand Trooper 500 1050 1000 C Circuit+1

H&S Badge

Scenes will begin when you enter Bledavik. When they're done, walk
into the marketplace. A woman will talk to you. Tell her you don't
have a hotel yet and she will show you one in town and tell you to give
her name to them when you register. When you walk in the marketplace,
on the east side is a stairway. Walk up it, and make your way behind
the armor store to a small place with a grate and an old man and old
woman. Talk to the old man. It will help you later on. Head back to
the marketplace. There are stalls on each side where you can buy
Radishes, Ariberries, and Elfananas for 10 gold each. At the north
end is a stall where you can sell Fangs, Eyeballs, and Scales. These
are good prices, so you can sell them if you want. Southwest from that
stall is a passageway that is hidden between two stalls. Go through it
and talk to the boy in the corner. Tell him you want to play hide-and-
seek. To get him to hide you must leave the screen and come back. Now
you must find him. His first hiding place is behind the archway at the
north side of the marketplace. His second hiding place is near the
hotel the woman showed you, behind some barrels near the church. The
third place he hides is behind a small archway north of the same hotel.
His fourth and final hiding place is in a corner in the eastern part of
the south entrance. When you find him all four times, he will give you
the H&S Badge. If you talked to the old man by the grate, the boy will
tell you about his experience at some point in the hide-and-seek game.
He will also tell you the old man has the key. Talk to the old man
again. Tell him that you will "Rescue Margie" and he will give you the
key. Head north to Shakhan Square. Talk to the man next to the stall
west of the entrance. Buy a minigear. Talk to the bird-like boy near
there twice. Give him the minigear and he will tell you how to get a
Gold Nugget. After that, head to the north exit of Shakhan Square.
Bart will stay behind. Head to Fatima Castle. There will be a scene.
Afterwards, head northeast and talk to the guard in the booth to
register for the Tournament, and any name will do. Head back to
Shakhan Square, pick up Bart, and go back to Bledavik. Go to the hotel
the woman showed you. There will be a scene. If you want to rest,
talk to the woman behind the counter. Tell her you have a
recommendation, then tell her you don't know who, and she will lower the
price to 40 gold a person. Whether you stay or not, follow the sister
to her room. There will be another scene. (If she doesn't mention the
Tournament, talk to her again.) When the scene ends, it will be just
Fei in the party. You can look around town more if you want, or talk
to Bart or Citan and pick to rest to begin the plan.

                             Rescue Margie
                        ------------------------

Aveh Guard 75 242 45 Aquasol
Aveh Guard (2) 75 242 45 Aquasol

Bart:
Hob-Jerky x 2 Iron Mail x 4
Hob-Meat Cobra Cracka
Gold Nugget
SurvivalTent
Rosesol S x 2
Aquasol S x 2

After resting, there will be a short scene. Head up to Fatima Castle.
Talk to the guard between the fence and booth to get through to the next
area. Talk to another guard at another fence to get through. Walk into
the tent on the east side. You will see Dan there, talk to him to begin
the Tournament.

The control will switch to Bart. After a short scene, have Bart head to
the barrels the hide-and-seek boy hid behind. There is a grate there.
Open it and fall in. There will be a scene, and then Fei will have his
first fight.

BATTLE (Character)
Gonzalez
HP: 400
Exp: 500
Gold: 0
Treasure: SurvivalTent

This guy can be dangerous if you're not careful. He counter attacks
for about 75 damage each time you use a deathblow, so use a weak attack
and cancel it to build up your AP. When you have about 20 AP, let
loose your combo. After winning, the menu will appear, and after
you're done, the control will switch back to Bart.

Bart will start on the ladder in the water system. The time until
control switches back to Fei depends on how much time you spent in
battle, so try to remember where you are when it does. Hold circle to
swim faster. Head up the tunnel, past the split heading southeast, and
watch for a pipe a little after the split. Climb up it to get the Gold
Nugget the bird-like boy told you about earlier. Return to the tunnel
and continue moving ahead. When another split heading southeast
appears, follow it for a Rosesol S. Go back northwest and continue
north. Past a slope the tunnel will split, heading northeast and
northwest. Take the northeast tunnel first. Follow it to another split
and head north. When it splits again, head southeast. Follow it to
another split, head southeast for a SurvivalTent. Head back to the very
first split (go northwest, west, northwest, south, southwest) and take
the northwest tunnel. Follow it to another split. Take the south
tunnel first for an Aquasol S. Then head north to the final split.
The south tunnel leads to the fountain in Shakhan Square, the southeast
tunnel is a dead end, and the north tunnel leads to the castle. By now
Fei should have gotten in his second fight.

BATTLE (Character)
Big Joe
HP: 900
Exp: 1
Gold: 1
Treasure: Metal Vest

Big Joe by himself is no real threat since he can only deal 2 damage
max. The real threat is the audience. They can heal him for 140 HP and
hit you for 60 damage, so make sure to keep your health up. When the
menu comes up, equip Fei with the Metal Vest you get for this fight.
When you're done, control switches back to Bart.

When you get into the castle, swim to the east side for a ladder out of
the water. Talk to the old man for a scene, then head up the southeast
corner ladder. This brings you to the well in the center of the
courtyard. If a soldier sees you, he will chase you until he catches
you, and you will have to fight him. Fei should have his third fight
by now.

BATTLE (Character)
Scud
HP: 350
Exp: 500
Gold: 0
Treasure: Sampson'sHair

Scud's technique is using pills that cause a variety of status effects,
and bees. Make sure to keep your HP us. When the fight's over, back
to Bart.

Back in the courtyard. Head south from the well. Two guards are in
front of the archway, but they're not difficult to beat. Head east
first. In the first room is a Cobra Cracka for Bart. The second room
is empty. The third room has a guard and four Iron Mails. The Iron
Mails are on pedestals north and south of the door, check each to get
it. Head back to the archway, and head west this time. The first
room has two Hob-Jerky and one Hob-Meat. They are hanging from the
ceiling above the stove. Jump and press x to grab them. Room's two
and three lead to the cafeteria, which has nothing of interest. Head
back to the archway and go through the door south of it. You will be
in a room with two stairways leading up. By now Fei should have his
fourth battle.

BATTLE (Character)
Dan
HP: 450
Exp: 500
Gold: 5
Treasure: Wedding Dress (if not hit)

Do not hit Dan at all during this battle. If you do, you will not get
the treasure. Just defend and heal when necessary. After a few rounds
Dan will hit you with a fireball attack for about 60 damage.
Eventually, Dan will say some things, throw the Wedding Dress at you,
and then leave. After the battle, equip Fei with an Iron Mail if you
have them, then switch back to Bart.

Back in the stairway room, go upstairs one floor and go through the
north double doors. Head east again. The first room has nothing. The
second room has a lot of guards. The third room has an Aquasol S
inside. Go back to the double doors and head west. The first and
second rooms have nothing in them. The third room has a Rosesol S.
Continue north and east, and then go through the door. Head upstairs.
You can go upstairs again to Shakhan's room to play with his hidden
camera (twist wine bottle next to mirror). When done, head northeast
to find a door. Go in to a hallway. Go east then north to find
Margie's room. By now Fei should have his final battle.

BATTLE (Character)
Wiseman
HP: N/A
Exp: 0
Gold: 0
Treasure: none

Many of your attacks will miss Wiseman, but it doesn't matter. After
about four rounds Wiseman will say some things and leave, making Fei
the champion. Then control switches back to Bart for good.

Back outside Margie's room, kill the guard and go through the door.
There will be a scene. When you go back into the hallway, you will
run into Ramsus and Miang. After a short scene, a fight breaks out.

BATTLE (Character)
Ramsus and Miang
HP: 400
Exp: 0
Gold: 0
Treasure: none

Throughout this battle, Margie will heal Bart and Miang will heal
Ramsus. If you equipped Bart's Cobra Cracka, it will poison Ramsus,
making Miang waste a turn curing his poison. When Ramsus goes into his
Mirror Stance, do not attack him, or else he will counter for some heavy
damage. Defend until he stops it. After Ramsus takes about 400 damage,
Fei will arrive, and another scene occurs. After the scene, you fight
again.

BATTLE (Character)
Ramsus & Miang (Part 2)
HP: 850
Exp: 0
Gold: 0
Treasure: none

This battle is a little easier thanks to Fei. Use your best deathblows,
and watch out for Ramsus's Mirror Stance. After about 850 damage,
Ramsus will be beaten.

After the battle, the party escapes. Following this are some scenes.
Head down the hallway and through the door for more scenes. Eventually,
you will be on the deck of the Yggdrasil. Head downstairs to discover
Margie's stuffed animal blocking the way to the bridge. Examine it,
then go to the room next to the Medical Bay, from now on called Margie's
Room. Talk to her to discover the toy is actually a living thing called
Chu-Chu (or whatever you decide to call her). After the scene, if you
have the spider from the Mountain Path, talk to Chu-Chu and she will
trade it for an Ether Veiler. Go back to the bridge and talk to Sigurd
for a short scene. Talk to him again for info on how to get to Nisan.
Take the Yggdrasil northwest to find the lone tree. Go near it to find
the road and use it.

                                 Nisan
                        ------------------------

Trooper 800 250 100 Extra Ar

Hopper 150 8 0 Fencing Wear

                        Ether Veiler

After some scenes, you will come up in Nisan's secret dock. There will
be another scene, then you can head into Nisan. Another scene, then you
will be in control. There is an item shop northwest of the first set of
stairs. They have some items that can only be found here, and only for
so long in the game, but they are very expensive. There is also a man
from the Yggdrasil gear shop here, but there's nothing new. When done,
head to the northeast part of town and talk to the man in the archway to
take Margie to the cathedral in the center of Nisan. There will be a
scene, then follow Margie to some stairs in about the middle of the east
side. As you follow Margie around, you will see scenes as she explains
things to you. Follow her to the third floor's 'Room of Sophia' for
more scenes. After they're over, go back to the second floor and look
for a door on the west side. Enter and head to the south part of the
room to find Margie and Sister Agnes. Talk to Sister Agnes for info on
Sophia, then head back to the entrance of Nisan to see Maison. Talk to
him, then go inside and talk to Sigurd for scenes and info on his and
Citan's past. At one point, you can choose which questions Bart asks.
Ask each question once. Afterward, say you understand to continue.
When you continue, Bart will leave. Follow him to an archway just past
the item shop. Talk to him for another scene. When they're finished,
head to the building northwest of the item shop. There will be more
scenes. When they are over, it is the next day. When you are
prepared, talk to Bart. There will be more scenes. Eventually you
will be in control of Citan. Talk to Maison, then go up the elevator
and the ladder to the deck. You will see more scenes. When they're
over, you will be at the Kislev Mountains.

Rosesol S MagneticCoat
Gold Nugget Extra Ar+2

You are shown the entrance to the cave when you first arrive. Before
entering, search the southeast area for a MagneticCoat and Extra Ar+2.
Then enter the cave. When inside, make your way northwest, picking up
a Rosesol S and Gold Nugget along the way. You will see a gear in front
of the exit. He will sell you gear parts and items, but if you say you
can't trust him, you will fight him, and he will not be there anymore.
There are some tough fights ahead, so before entering, you should level
Fei up to level 30. Also, if you have a Beam Coat, equip him with it.
When you're finished, save and walk outside. Walk to the east to begin
some scenes and battles.

BATTLE (Gear)
Wand Knight x 2
HP: 620-650 x 2
Exp: 3000
Gold: 400
Treasure: Extra Ar+2

These guys are pushovers. The only thing to worry about is their beam
attack, but it can only do about 300 damage, half that if you equipped
Fei with the Beam Coat. Use 30 Fuel Attacks and Level 1 Deathblows to
take them out. Immediately following this battle is another battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
Sword Knight, Claw Knight, Aegis Knight
HP: 700 x 3
Exp: 4500
Gold: 900
Treasure: none

Turn on booster. First, concentrate on the Sword Knight, then the Claw
Knight, and finally the Aegis Knight. Use the same method as above to
finish them off, but try to do it quickly so they don't take off too
much HP. Following this battle are more scenes, then the last battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
Vierge
HP: 2400
Exp: 0
Gold: 0
Treasure: none

There will be scenes throughout this battle. Turn on booster. Use 30
Fuel Attacks and the highest Level Deathblow you have. Watch out for
Vierge's Aerods, they can do up to 350 damage. If your fuel runs low,
get to Attack Level 3 and charge until it gets higher or your HP falls
below 800. After you do about 2400 damage to Vierge, the battle will
end in a scene.

After the scenes, you will be in another cave. Heal, save, and make
your way up the cave ledges until you are in a yellow light. Jump up
to exit the cave.

After more scenes, you will be in control of Bart. Head up the ladder
to begin more scenes. After they're over, exit the room. Control
will switch back to Fei.

                         Attack on Border Fleet
                        ------------------------

Sand Tripper 180 550 110
Trooper 800 250 100 Extra Ar
Gigafoot 850 320 220 C Circuit

After more scenes, you will begin the attack on the border fleet. Equip
Fei with something that increases agility in the desert (A/C, C Circuit,
C Circuit+1), a Beam Coat, and an Old Circuit. Make your way west,
watching out for gunfire (-1 HP) and mines (-15 HP). Some gear battles
are unavoidable, so don't worry about them, but try to conserve your HP
and Fuel. After moving up the screen, there will be another scene, then
back to Fei. Keep heading west. After this screen are more scenes,
then a battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
Main Gun, Small Gun x 2
HP: 1500, 450-600 x 2(?)
Exp: 7000
Gold: 0
Treasure: Gold Bullion

Ignore the small guns, just hit the Main Gun with 30 Fuel Attacks and
Level 1 Deathblows. It should die before getting a shot off, but even
if it does, it only deals about 400 damage. After you destroy it, there
will be more scenes, then another battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
Dora
HP: 3000
Exp: 13393
Gold: 2000
Treasure: Extra Ar+3

This battle can be very difficult, especially if you didn't equip the
Beam Coat. Dora begins with a head cover, so Fei will deal less than
100 damage, and the red gears will deal none. Have Fei attack with 30
Fuel Attacks and have the other two charge. When Dora picks up the two
red gears, do not attack him! Just charge until he throws them back
down, then continue with the attack. After about 7 or 8 turns, Dora's
head cover will be destroyed, so you can begin doing some damage. Have
Fei turn on booster and begin using 30 Fuel Attacks and Level 1
Deathblows, and have the other two gears use 30 Fuel Attacks,
remembering to charge when Dora picks the two gears up. After about
3000 damage, Dora will go down. After the battle there will be more
scenes. Eventually, Bart will get into a battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
?
HP: N/A
Exp: 0
Gold: 0
Treasure: none

You are destined to lose this battle, so don't worry about fighting.
After the third turn, the gear will hit you and then use his Kishin
attack, which results in 19998 damage, much more than you can handle.
After Bart goes down, more scenes will follow. Eventually, you will be
given the option to save, then continue with the game.

                            Nortune D Block
                        ------------------------

Dog Food

After more scenes, Fei will wake up in Kislev's D Block. After more
scenes, you are given the chance to prepare. When finished, walk
towards them to begin.

BATTLE (Character)
Leonardo
HP: 500
Exp: 300
Gold: 150
Treasure: none

Leonardo is easy. Use your best deathblow to finish him off. He never
deals more than 4 damage. Next up is Heinrich.

BATTLE (Character)
Heinrich
HP: 500
Exp: 300
Gold: 150
Treasure: none

Heinrich is just like Leonardo, except he can deal 2 or 3 more damage.
Use the same strategy as you did with Leonardo. Next fight is with
Vargas.

BATTLE (Character)
Vargas
HP: 500
Exp: 300
Gold: 150
Treasure: none

Vargas is a bit harder. In addition to his weak attack, he will counter
attack you for every attack that hits him. If you hit him with a
deathblow, he will counter for each hit. Keep your HP up and charge
your AP to 20, then let him have it. Next up is Suzarn.

BATTLE (Character)
Suzarn
HP: 800
Exp: 500
Gold: 0
Treasure: Metal Jacket

When Suzarn hits you, one of three things will happen. She will either
hit you for 2 damage, halve your HP, or drain all of your EP. If you
keep your HP above 3, she will never kill you. Use your best deathblow
to finish her off. After Suzarn you fight Rico.

BATTLE (Character)
Rico
HP: N/A
Exp: 0
Gold: 0
Treasure: none

There will be a short scene at the beginning of the battle. Afterwards,
Rico will spend his firs two turns casting Steel Fist and Steel Body.
On his third turn he will hit you for about 1200 damage, so don't worry
about beating him.

After the battle are some scenes, then Fei will wake up in the infirmary
again. Go upstairs and go out the west door. You can go up the ladder
south of the door and jump across the track and talk to the guard near
the dog to buy some Dog Food from him for 5 gold. You can give it to
the dog, but it doesn't really do anything. Head to the southeast
building with neon signs above it and go in. Head east to get the
attention of a beastoid man. Talk to him for a scene. After the scene,
talk to him again to buy items and accessories from him. Leave here and
head to the northeast part of town. A guard will stop you and there
will be another scene. Head back to where Hammer was for another scene.
Head back to the infirmary when the scene's over for another scene.
During this scene you can choose to have your collar removed, take a
rest beforehand, or to forget it. If you choose to forget it, the scene
will continue. If you choose to rest, the scene will stop until you
talk to Hammer. If you choose to have the collar removed, the scene
that follows will be random, but one scene will result with you getting
3500 gold, so if you want to rest so you can save and reset until you
get this scene, it's up to you. Whichever you choose, the scene will
go on. Eventually you will control Fei in the infirmary again. Go
upstairs for another scene. Go to where the guard stopped you for
another short scene with him, then follow the road out of D Block.

                         Nortune Battling Arena
                        ------------------------

Head northwest to the Battling Arena for another scene. When it's over,
you can talk to Hammer to guy items and gear parts, but since you don't
have your gear yet, you can't buy the gear parts yet. You can also talk
to the girl behind the west side of the counter for info on battling.
When you are done, talk to Rue and say you're ready for more scenes.
Soon you will be given choices of what to do next: learn battling
controls, tutorial of battling, a practice battling match, or to begin
the real battling match. You should probably learn (or relearn if it's
not your first time through) the controls, then do a few practice rounds
to prepare. When you're done, select 'Begin battle' to continue. Your
first battle is against Ganador.

Ganador

He isn't very hard. When you knock his life bar down past halfway,
there will be a scene.

After more scenes, Fei will wake up in the infirmary again. You can
talk to Hammer to buy items or accessories. When you're done, head back
to the battling arena. Talk to Hammer again to tune up your gear. When
you're done with that, talk to the girl behind the east part of the
counter to continue battling. Your next opponent is Tin Robo.

Tin Robo

He's not that difficult, but if you're not careful he can kill you.
After this battle and every battle you win, you are given an amount of
gold dependant upon how you did in the battle and how long you took.
Talk to the girl again to begin the second battle against Titan.

Titan

He's a bit easier than Tin Robo. He usually doesn't block ether
bullets, so use that to your advantage, but be careful to not let your-
self overheat.

After you beat Titan, head back to the infirmary and rest by walking to
the westernmost bunk beds. When you wake up, head back to the battling
arena to continue.

W-Shaver

He is also no real threat.

Musha

He tends to use a lot of laser shots and ether bullets, so watch out.

After these battles, head back to the infirmary and rest. When you wake
up, there will be a scene. When it's over, head out the west door and
go up the ladder. Head northwest to a hole in the roof with a man
standing next to it. Head down the hole for a short scene.

Bell Amulet

There will be more scenes when you enter section 1 of the sewers.
When they're over, head west, making sure to be careful of the water
pouring out of the pipes. If you hit them, it will hurt you (-3 HP).
Follow the path south then southeast for a Physisol. Then cross the
bridge and head south again to the chalk outline for a scene. After the
scene, follow the path north, northwest, then west for a ladder that
leads to the next section of the sewer, section 2-A. Don't go down it
yet, though. Instead cross the bridge east of you and head back west
for the Kislev Map. Go back east, southeast, east, north a bit to a
bridge, cross it, and go north to another chalk outline for another
scene. Then head south then east or an Aquasol S. Go back to the
ladder that leads to section 2-A and go down it.

There will be another scene when you enter here. When it's over, follow
the path south, southeast, east, then northeast for a Cool Shades. The
ladder across from the Cool Shades is a ladder that leads to section
2-B. Don't go up it though. Head back to the bridge near the ladder
you came down. Cross it and head north, then northwest. In addition to
avoiding the water, you have to avoid the rotor blades, or they'll hurt
you too (-5 HP). Continue northwest, west, south, southwest, south,
cross the bridge here, head north, northeast, north, then west for
another scene. Examine it to find the Sewer Keys and another scene.
After the scene, head back east, south, southwest, south, cross the
bridge, head north, northeast, north, east, southeast, cross the bridge
here, head northwest, west, northwest, and north for a Poison Guard. Go
back south, southeast, east, southeast, northeast, east, and southeast
to a door. Go through it to enter the last section, section 2-B.

Head southeast, south, east, northeast, north, cross the bridge here,
head north, northwest, then west for a Gallant Belt. The door across
from the Gallant Belt leads back to section 1. Head back east, south-
east, south, cross the bridge here, head south, southwest, west, cross
another bridge, head west, south, southeast, east, cross yet another
bridge, head west, and then northwest to find a ladder back to section
2-A. Keep going northwest, then north for another scene. Head north-
west to a door. Go through it to go back to section 2-A. Follow the
path to a Knight Helm. Go back to the door and through it. Head south-
east, south, southeast, east, cross the bridge, head east, north, north-
west, cross another bridge, head east, northeast, north, cross another
bridge, head south, southwest, southeast, then south and talk to the
green creature named Gramps. Then head east and follow the path to a
scene, then a Gold Nugget. Head back to the bridge next to Gramps and
cross it. First head west then south to find a Zetasol DX. Then head
north, east, southeast, cross the bridge, head southeast and then south
for a Mentsol. Now head north, northwest, north, northeast, north,
northeast, then east to a door. Try to open it for a scene. When Rico
asks if you're ready, say 'Of course' to go inside. After a scene, pick
up the treasure, a Bell Amulet, for another scene. Then jump up the
pipes for an Ether Veiler. Head back outside and head west then south-
west for another scene. You should now try to get Citan and Rico up to
level 30, and work on getting Rico some deathblows. The battle coming
up is a tough one, so also make sure you have plenty of Zetasols. When
you are prepared, go to where Gramps is, then head north, northwest,
northeast, north, then northwest to find the drain. Examine it for a
scene and a battle.

BATTLE (Character)
Redrum
HP: 4242
Exp: 52425
Gold: 100
Treasure: none

This battle can get difficult. Redrum has a few attacks that can really
mess with your party. He uses a gel attack twice that poisons or
confuses your party members. He has a Fire Rain attack that hurts the
party and heals him. Finally, he has an attack called 'Murder' that
kills a party member and heals Redrum for their max HP. Also, Rico's
Fire Bomb deathblow heals Redrum, so don't use it. First, have Citan
cast Renki, then Suiseii so you don't have to worry about Redrum's Fire
Rain attack. Then charge everyone's AP to 28 and hit him hard with your
combos. Hopefully you can kill him before he uses 'Murder', but if he
does just revive the party member and continue with the attack. After
you defeat him there will be more scenes, then you will be at the sewer
entrance.

Head back to the infirmary for a scene with Rico. After the scene, you
will rest and be back in the infirmary. Go to the Battling Arena to
continue with your battling matches.

Hatamoto

He likes to use combos, so don't stay in close quarters with him for
long.

Firewheel

He is like Hatamoto, only he is much faster.

Silverstar

He is like Firewheel, only he uses ether bullets more often.

After you win the third battle, there will be a scene with Hammer.
After the scene, you can save and then leave. There will be more scenes
and then a fight.

BATTLE (Character)
Wiseman
HP: N/A
Exp: 0
Gold: 0
Treasure: none

There will be a short scene before the battle begins. After you deal
about 1000 damage to Wiseman, the battle will end.

After the battle the scene continues. Eventually you will be back in
the infirmary. Head to the Battling Arena to face your final battling
opponent, Rico.

Stier

You will have to win three rounds against Rico. He uses his speed,
combos, and ether bullets very well, so you will have to stay on your
toes.

When you win, there will be some scenes. When they're over, head down-
stairs. When you try to leave, the bartender will tell you something,
then you leave. When you try to leave D Block the guard will stop you
again for another short scene. Exit D Block. Head to the southeast
part of Nortune, A Block. At the east side of A Block you will see Big
Joe. Talk to him for a scene. If you pay him 5000 gold, he will let
you see what's in the ally behind you. There's nothing there now, but
come back to this place later to find something. In the southern part
of A Block are the item and accessory stores. When your finished, leave
A Block. Head to the middle of Nortune, the Central District.

                        Nortune Central District
                        ------------------------

                        MomentoChain Insulated Ar
                        Knight Mail Power Magic

Talk to the soldiers to get in, then there is a scene. Afterwards, head
east and go through the door and down the stairs to another door. Go
through it and head west and go through the double doors. Walk straight
across the room, jump on the box, then jump to the shelf to get an
Insulated Ar. Then go to the panel near the man at the north end of the
room. Examine it to work the crane. The object is to get the crane to
the south side of the room near the green boxes without hitting anything
on the way. When you do, you can use the crane as a jumping step to get
to the top of the boxes. If you mess up, leave the room and re-enter to
reset the crane. Do it right to get the treasure behind the boxes, a
Power Magic. Leave here and go back to the stairway. Go up and out the
door to the main hallway and take the elevator in the center. When you
get out, head west up the stairs and go through the door. Walk into the
organ room to begin a scene. After it's over, check the dresser at the
north side of the room for a MomentoChain. Leave the room for another
scene. After it's over, head back to the Kaiser's room for a Knight
Mail. Leave the Central District to go back to A Block.

Walk past the guards for a scene. After it's over, walk to the south-
west corner of the building you're on and jump into the tube next to it.
Exit the room you land in and talk to the woman in the northeast corner
for a scene. When you leave, there is another scene. Head back to D
Block.

Minigear
SurvivalTent

After you walk in there will be another scene. When it's over, head
into the bedroom. Walk near the bed to rest and begin the plan. When
you wake up it will be night. Leave the bar to be shown the tower.
Make your way to the tower and talk to the Amazoness for a short scene,
then the train will come. Time your jump so you land on one of the
cargo cars. There will be a scene, then you will have to jump from one
car to the next. When you do, another short scene, and you will have to
jump to the front of the train. If you miss any of the jumps, you will
have to start all over. When you get to the front, there will be
another scene. Soon you will be in the Gear Dock.

The east door is locked, and the south door will bring a scene, and you
won't be able to use it, so jump up the boxes to an air duct opening.
Follow the duct to a split. The west split leads to a grate you can
peek through for a short scene. Head down the south path to another
split. Take the south path and follow it to an opening that leads to a
room. The door in this room is locked, so walk against the lone box to
push it west until it hits the other boxes. Jump on it to the other
boxes to another duct opening. Go in and follow the duct to a split.
Take the north split to another grate to peek through for a scene. Head
back and take the west path to another split. The west split leads to
another grate to peek through for a scene. Head back and take the south
path. Follow it to another opening that leads to a room and a scene.
Go in and check the cabinet for the Master Key, a short scene, and a
Frame HP30. Exit out the east door and follow the hallway to another
door. Go in and check the easternmost bench for 100 gold. Exit out the
east door and follow the hallway and go in a door on the south side that
needs the Master Key to open. You will be back in the room with the
pushable box. Check the small box at the south side of the room for a
Beam Coat. Exit back into the hallway and head north to another door.
Go through and circle around to the room behind the counter. Check
under the desk on the east side for a Minigear, short scene, and a
fight. When you win, you will get an Evasion Ring. Exit out the door
on the north side. You will be in the first room again. Examine the
panel next to the locked door to unlock it, then go through it. Follow
the hallway to some stairs. Go down them then check the opening next to
them to find a SurvivalTent. Follow the hallway west to a door and go
through it. You will be in a very big room. Head to the easternmost
gear dock in the center of the room. Examine the flashing panel next to
it until you see Weltall. Walk to it and press X to get in. Equip Fei
with the Frame HP30 you got earlier. Head to the south side of the room
and talk to the green-white gear for a gear shop. When you're done, get
in one of the lifts to ride it up. There will be a scene, then a fight.

BATTLE (Gear)
Rankar Dragon R
HP: 800
Exp: 946
Gold: 0
Treasure: Scales

This battle is very easy. One 30 Fuel Attack and Level 1 Deathblow
should be enough to take it out.

After the battle are more scenes. Eventually, you will get into a
series of battles.

BATTLE (Gear)
Aegis Knight R
HP: 1600
Exp: 5570
Gold: 1000
Treasure: none

This battle is nothing difficult. Use 30 Fuel Attacks and Level 1
Deathblows to finish him off. After the battle there is a short scene
then another battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
Sword Knight R
HP: 1800
Exp: 5570
Gold: 1000
Treasure: none

Turn on booster and use the same strategy as above. Beat him quickly
because he can cause a lot of damage. After this battle are more
scenes, then another battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
Claw Knight R
HP: 1500-1700 (?)
Exp: 5570
Gold: 1000
Treasure: Beam Coat

This battle is easier than the last one. Use the same strategy to scrap
him. After this battle is another scene, then yet another battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
Wand Knight R x 2
HP: 1800 x 2
Exp: 11140
Gold: 1000
Treasure: none

Take these guys out quickly, they can cause some real damage with their
beam attacks.

After the battle are more scenes, then you are given the chance to save.
Make sure to equip Fei and Rico with Beam Coats before continuing. When
you resume, you will get into a battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
Hecht, Super Aerod
HP: 7500, 2500
Exp: 48106
Gold: 20000
Treasure: HP Drive

The battle starts out with some scenes. Turn on your boosters and use
30 Fuel Attacks and highest Level Deathblows. If you equipped the Beam
Coats, Hecht's beam attacks will be nothing to worry about. At some
point in the battle, Hecht will summon a Super Aerod. You can destroy
it or choose to ignore it, but if it attacks, it can do up to 2000
damage.

Gold Nugget Extra Ar+3

After the battle are more scenes. Eventually, you will be back in A
Block. After some scenes, you will be in control again. When you try
to leave, there will be another scene, then you leave. Head to the
alley where Big Joe ripped you off. If you paid him, there will be a
M Disk back there. Head to the very back of the alley and check until
you find it. It is used in the jukebox in the bar next door. Now head
to the southern exit. Walk near the guards and there will be a scene,
and if you pick 'Try to break through!' the scene will continue. When
you get to the city map, you will see Big Joe. Talk to him and he will
tell you how to change your party, and about the M Disk. After talking
to him, exit Nortune.

You can spend time on the World Map getting Elly some more deathblows if
you plan on using her, or you can go straight to the Factory. Head east
to the forest, go through it, then follow the mountains until the path
through the range is visible. Go through it and head northwest until
you see the Factory. Go inside.

Get in your gears and head west, then north. Follow the path and you
will meet up with Hammer. He will change your party and sell you gear
parts. Upgrade your gears. When you're done, continue on and go
through the doors. In this room you can't rotate the camera yet. You
will be attacked three times while walking through it. At about the
point when you get attacked by two HarquebusMk10's, check the east side
of the room. You should see a treasure chest. Get it for a Gold
Nugget. Continue north and through the door. Follow the path. The
first split off leads south to a save point and the second split off
leads east to an O2 Cylinder. This is a good place to level up since
the Mechanic enemies will sometimes heal your HP. When you're finished,
continue following the path to a door and go through it. In this room
you also can't rotate the camera. You will also be attacked twice.
Head to the other side of the room and get on a lift to go up to a
conveyor belt. You will be taken west into another room.

Leave the belt and jump to the floor. On the west wall there is a
flashing yellow panel. Examine it to reverse the direction of the
conveyor belt. Go under the belt and get out of your gears and head
west to get an Extra Ar+3. Head back to the lift near the conveyor belt
and examine the flashing blue panel in the southwest corner of it to
ride it up. Get on the belt and ride it east two rooms. In this room,
the yellow panel reverses the direction of the belt you were on, the
yellow panel on the east wall drops three enemies once, and the blue
panel below the conveyor belt on the opposite side of the room reverses
the direction of the belt it's connected to. Reverse the latter
conveyor belt and get on it. Ride it through two more rooms. In this
room, the blue panel on the south wall reverses the conveyor belt
pointed east, the western blue panel on the north wall drops two
treasures (they seem to be random), and the eastern blue panel on the
north wall reverses the direction of the belt you were on. Reverse the
first belt's direction, then ride it east. It will take you through
three rooms. When you're off it, head west for a battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
Fis-6
HP: 6800
Exp: 67284
Gold: 15000
Treasure: Ground

Turn on boosters and use 30 Fuel Attacks and your best Level
Deathblows. Soon Fis-6 uses a move 'Shift Up' which increases his
attack, defense, and speed. He will use this a few times in the battle,
so watch out after he uses it for the third time.

After the battle, walk west up the ramp that Fis-6 came down. You will
be on the bridge of the Goliath. There will be a short scene, then when
Citan says 'we can do this', talk to him to fly the Goliath out of the
Factory. There will be some scenes, then a fight.

BATTLE (Gear)
Grahf
HP: N/A
Exp: 0
Gold: 0
Treasure: none

Grahf uses a move called 'Super Guided Shot' which will first halve Fei
and Rico's HP, and if he uses it again, it will do enough to kill them.
His regular attack can do more than 1200 damage. However, he won't hit
Elly during the entire battle. Whether you win or lose, the battle will
end in a scene.

After the scene, you will be back in the Goliath. Talk to Hammer for a
short, but funny, scene, then Citan for more scenes.

Eventually, you will be in control of Elly. Head east and jump to the
other section. Examine the brown door in the floor for more scenes.

After the scenes, you will be in control of Citan. Head to the bridge
of the Yggdrasil and talk to Bart for more scenes.

After even more scenes, you will be in control of Bart. Head to the
gear dock and go inside the gear shop. Citan will be there. Talk to
him for a scene. Afterwards, walk out of the gear shop and head to the
southwest part of the gear dock to see Stier. Walk behind Stier to
begin more scenes. Eventually, Fei and Elly will be rescued by the
floating city on the sea, the Thames.

                               The Thames
                        ------------------------

                        Lunar Rod SerpentGWhip
                        Super Goggles Mica
                        Premier Shoes D Circuit
                        LongDarkCoat Deathblower1

There will be a scene when you arrive, then Fei and Elly will be in the
Armor Ground on the Thames deck. In the northeast part is a weapons/
accessory store, and in the northwest part is an items store. When
you're done, lave the Armor Ground to go to the Thames' deck map. Talk
to the gear nearest to the Armor Ground and answer yes to his question
to get a quick tour of the deck. Head to the Supply Entrance first.

When you're inside, walk to the gun that's south of you and use it as a
bridge to the boxes across the way. Then walk over the plank of wood
below to more boxes, and the big knife after that to more boxes. You
will now be near two hanging cylinders, one with a treasure on top.
Jump on the cylinders to get it, a Lunar Rod. Now head north and talk
to the man near a panel to buy gear parts. Upgrade your gears.
Remember, it's usually better to buy armor that has both physical and
ether protection. Also, equip Fei and Elly's gears with anti-electric
parts (Mica, Ground, Insulated Ar). It will pay off soon. Now head to
the northwest corner of the Supply Entrance. Jump on the lone box
southeast of the child in the corner, then jump over the fence east of
the box to get a SerpentGWhip. Jump on the barrel to the east and jump
over the fence to get out. Now head to the west side of the Supply
Entrance, and stand near some boxes with cats on top. Eventually you
will see another cylinder with a treasure on top of it pass overhead.
Jump up and hit the bottom of it with your head to knock the treasure
off the cylinder on to the floor. It is a Mica. Now head to the south-
east side of the Supply Entrance, and go in the door southwest of the
flaming barrel. Drop off the ledge onto the top of boxes below. Walk
north to find a hole with the last treasure in this area, a D Circuit.
There is a small box you can use to jump out.

Now head back to the northwest corner of the Supply Entrance. Talk to
the child in the corner, and answer yes to both his questions for him to
show you a card game. He will explain the rules and controls to you.
When he is done, you can challenge him to a game. He moves rather
slowly, so he is pretty easy. If you win, he will give you the Super
Goggles. Once you beat him, you can't challenge him again. Now head
back to the northeast corner and look for the door to the Screw
Elevator. Go inside and check where you came out of to get a list of
areas to travel to. Pick the Beer Hall. When you get there, talk to
the man in the south corner looking out the window to play another card
game. He is a bit faster than the boy, but not as bright when placing
cards. If you beat him, he will give you the Premier Shoes. He also
won't play you again when beaten. Go back to the Screw Elevator and go
to the Deck. Head back to the Armor Ground. On the west side of the
Armor Ground is a woman on a big brown box. She is your next card game
opponent. She is very fast and very good with card placement. If you
beat her, she gives you a Deathblower1. Unlike the other two people,
you can play her again, and if you beat her again, she will give you a
random item. When you're done playing cards, get in the Screw Elevator
and go to the Bridge. Talk to the man in red east of the door for a
scene, then follow him to the Beer Hall. You'll find him near a table
by the windows. Talk to him again for more scenes. After they're over,
follow the Captain to the Bridge for more scenes. After these scenes
are over, head to the Thames' deck for a short scene, then walk to your
gears and press X to get in them. There will be more scenes, then a
battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
Haishao
HP: 3000
Exp: 0
Gold: 0
Treasure: none

Turn on booster and use 30 Fuel Attacks and Level 1 Deathblows. Haishao
will use an ether attack that hits the whole party, and an electric
attack that hits one person. If you bought armor with ether protection
and equipped anti-electric parts, Haishao's attacks won't cause too much
damage. At some point, the battle will end in a scene. After this
battle, Bart will be able to use his 'Ygg D. Charge' gear option.

After more scenes, you will be on the deck of the Yggdrasil. Head to
the Screw Elevator for more scenes. After they're over, you'll be in
the bridge of the Yggdrasil. Head up to the Yggdrasil's deck, then head
up the stairs to find Big Joe with a woman. Talk to Big Joe and say
that you're disturbing his amore time to play him at the card game. He
is fast and he's ok with card placement. If you beat him, he will give
you the LongDarkCoat, and then run off. After that, head to the Beer
Hall for some scenes. Afterwards, head back to the Yggdrasil. Go to
the room with Maison, and head down the stairs and go north to the
engine room for a scene. When it's over, talk to Citan, then Elly, then
Citan again. When it's over, go to the Medical Bay and talk to Elly for
a scene. Then the menu will appear. Equip everyone's gears with anti-
electric parts. When you're done, there will be more scenes, then a
battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
Bladegash
HP: 3000
Exp: 22428
Gold: 3000
Treasure: STR Drive

Turn on booster and use 30 Fuel Attacks and Level 1 Deathblows. During
the battle, Bladegash will enhance her sword with different elements.
You can cancel out the sword by having Elly cast an opposing element on
Bladegash. Wind cancels Earth, Fire cancels Water, and vice versa. If
you attack while her sword is still enhanced, she will attack you back.
After the battle is a scene then another battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
Haishao
HP: 4500
Exp: 0
Gold: 0
Treasure: none

There will be a short scene, then the battle begins. Miang's gear will
occasionally heal Haishao, but there's nothing you can do about her.
Turn on booster and use 30 Fuel Attacks and your highest Level
Deathblow. Each of Haishao's attacks will hit you three times. Make
sure not to attack Haishao when it's in Mirror Stance, as it will
counter for a lot of damage. Just heal and charge fuel until it comes
out of it. Eventually, the battle will end in a scene. After this
battle, Elly will be able to use her 'Aerods' gear option.

After a scene, you will be in the Thames' Sick Bay. Head to the Armor
Ground for a scene. After it's over, head to the Yggdrasil. Go to
Margie's room. Talk to her and she will change your party for you.
Head to the bridge and talk to Sigurd to learn the location of the
Ethos' headquarters and to leave the Thames.

As Sigurd said, head north to find the Ethos HQ. When you get there, go
inside. Walk down the center aisle to begin a scene. After it's over,
follow Billy for another scene. Head through the door and continue
following him. When he stops head through the door next to him and go
downstairs. Head east to find him again and talk to him for a scene.
When it's over, walk back upstairs. Go into each room in this hallway
and talk to every person, then go upstairs and do the same. When done,
go back downstairs for a short scene. Then go back to the infirmary for
more scenes. When they're over head to the Yggdrasil's bridge. Talk to
Sigurd to learn where Billy went, then launch the Yggdrasil.

Tag Badge
Book 1
Book 2
Book 3

Head southeast from the Ethos HQ to find the Orphanage. Before
entering, put Rico in your party. When you enter, first head to the
fenced area west of the house. Talk to the bird-like boy, and tell him
that you will help him. Find his three chickens and bring them back to
the coop, one at a time. When you're done, talk to the boy and he will
give you the Tag Badge. After you're done, walk into the house. Look
at the west side of the room for a ladder. Go up and talk to the girl.
Tell her it's 'OK' and she will give you a book, Book 1. Go back down
and go into the next room. Go into the first room on the east side.
Talk to the boy on the bed, and if Rico's in your party, there will be a
scene. He will give you another book, Book 3. Now go back to the first
room and talk to Billy for a scene. When it's over, if Citan was in
your party, Bart will replace him. Go into the next room. Check the
second door on the east side. There will be a short scene, then the boy
will give you the last book, Book 2. Now go through the north door.
Check the bookcase for some scenes. When they're over, leave the
Orphanage. You will be in the Yggdrasil. Head to Maison's room for a
short scene. Talk to Sigurd for more scenes. When they're over, you
will be in the crew sleeping quarters. Head back to Maison's room and
talk to Billy. He will explain how his guns and ammo equipment works.
There will be more scenes. Soon the party menu will appear. Pick who
you want to assist Billy. When you're done, go up the ladder that leads
to the Yggdrasil's deck to go to the Reaper Ship.

Walk up the ladder and go through the door for a short scene. As Billy
suggests, look for the red switch on the middle of the east wall.
Examine it to turn on the lights and unlock the type A doors. Head
north then kick some boxes to the west of you out of the way to get a
Penguin Coat. Go up the ladder and head north to an opening. Go down.
Next to you is some B&JM10S Ammo. Head south, but don't let the meat
slabs hit you. When you get to a wall, there is a SurvivalTent. Look
near it on the east wall to find another switch. Examine it to unlock
the B type doors. Head back north and go through the door. The first
room on the east side has the Cabin Key, but the other two on this side
are empty. The shower in the first room on the west side will begin a
short but slightly scary scene. The second room has a Silver Beret, and
the third has some ShotG60 Ammo. The northern door is locked, but it is
also rusted shut. Run up to and hit it three or four times to knock it
down. Head north and go up the ladder. Head north and you will see a
tube open up when you get near it. Equip Billy's advanced ammo, then
jump down the tube. There will be a battle.

BATTLE (Character)
Bloody
HP: 4242
Exp: 25701
Gold: 3000
Treasure: none

Bloody is pretty much the same as Redrum. He has the same moves as
Redrum, but he uses 'Murder' a lot more. If he hits someone with
'Murder' revive them right away, or the battle will get difficult.
Charge your AP to 28, then let him have it. After the battle are some
scenes, then another battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
Giant Wels
HP: 6500-6800 (?)
Exp: 77103
Gold: 10000
Treasure: G-M686 Gun

This boss will grow when hit with an ether attack, except for Billy's
ether guns. You won't be able to damage him with non-ether attacks
until he has grown four times. Hit him with 10 Fuel Attacks to charge
to your highest Attack Level. Then hit him with four ether attacks.
Be careful, because when he grows his defense goes down, but his attack
goes up. After the fourth growth, hit him with your Deathblows.

After the battle, you will be on the Yggdrasil. There will be a short
scene, then launch the Yggdrasil. First, head to the Orphanage. Go to
the back room with the bookcase. Examine it to put Book 1, Book 2, and
Book 3 in it and it will move. Push it the rest of the way to get into
the room behind it. You will find the B&JM686 Gun. After getting it,
head to the Ethos HQ.

When you enter, there will be a scene. Then head to the door on the
west side. Go through it for a short scene, then a battle. When it's
over, there's another short scene. If you want to check the rooms, the
last room on the west side has a battle, and the room at the end of the
hall has a passageway down. Go down it to find a body. Check it for a
short scene, then go back upstairs to the hallway. Go upstairs for
another battle. Afterwards, in the next hallway, there will be two more
battles. The first room on the north wall has a short scene. The other
two rooms on the north wall are empty except for bodies. The room on
the south wall has three people. Go back downstairs, and take the
stairs to the infirmary. There will be a short scene, then a battle, in
the hallway outside the infirmary. The infirmary has one person inside.
Head through the west door in the hallway, and go through the first door
on the north wall. It leads to a room. Go outside to find an Aquasol
DX and a Seal Ar. Go back downstairs. The second passageway on the
north wall is blocked, as is the one on the south wall. The last
passageway was the one from earlier. Go back east through two doors.
When the path splits, take the north split first. The first room has
nothing inside. The second has a man. Talk to him twice, then head to
the third room. This room has Big Joe. When you get near him, there
will be a scene, then he will leave. Go back to the main path, and
continue east. Soon there will be a platform. Go down and continue on.
In this hallway is a room on the east side. Go in for some rather long
scenes. When they're over, head back into the hallway for more scenes,
and eventually a battle. Afterwards, follow Jessie into the room to the
north for more scenes. Eventually a party menu will appear. Pick your
party, then launch the Yggdrasil. Head for the Thames.

When you get to the Thames, head to the Bridge and talk to the Captain
for a short scene. Talk to Hans to get directions to the Dig Site.
Head to the Yggdrasil and leave the Thames.

The Dig Site is north of the Thames. When you enter, take the platform
down and go through the hole in the wall. There will be a soldier
there. In this area, when you get near the soldiers, they will fight
you. Go through the door to the south for a scene. When the elevator
stops, go through the door. Only the east door opens, so go through it.
Follow the path to a hallway with a lot of doors, most of which don't
open. A soldier guards the only door that does open. Take the
elevator down and go through the door. Head north to a hallway. First
head west for some B&JM686AAmmo. Then head east until you see two
doors, one of which is guarded by a soldier. Go through that door for a
Sleep Guard, then go through the other door. Follow the path to another
hallway. There will be a single door, go through for a Black Snake.
Continue in the hallway to see two more doors. Go into the guarded room
for a Panalphasol, then go through the other door. Head downstairs and
check the door to perform a manual scan. Then go back to the room with
the Black Snake and check the computer panel to reset the emergency
level. Go back downstairs and through the door. After the pressure
decreases, head through the southwestern door. Examine the computer
panel for some scenes. Go towards the tube for more scenes, then a
battle.

BATTLE (Character)
Tolone, Seraphita
HP: 2500, 2000
Exp: 62328
Gold: 10000
Treasure: VIT Drive, ETH Drive

If you brought Bart along, and you equipped him with the Black Snake,
have him hit Tolone and Seraphita at least once to decrease the damage
of their ether attacks. If you didn't bring him along, or didn't equip
the Black Snake, have Citan cast Renki, then Suikeii to protect you from
Seraphita's attack, as she causes the most damage. First concentrate on
taking out Tolone. Charge your AP to 28, then let her have it with your
combos. When she's down, do the same to Seraphita. Make sure to keep
your HP up.

After the battle, make your way out of the Dig Site. When you leave the
pressure room, there will be a scene. Head back to the entrance of the
Dig Site. (I recommend saving at least once on the way up.) When you
get to the walkway overlooking the city, there will be a scene, then a
battle.

BATTLE (Character)
Id
HP: 3000
Exp: 90534
Gold: 5
Treasure: none

Make sure to keep your HP above 200 in this battle. Id's regular
attacks aren't much, neither is his ether attack, but he will use
deathblows on two of your characters at a time, and they pack a punch,
so watch out. Many of your attacks will miss Id, so charge your AP to
28, and hope that most of your combos will connect.

After the battle there will be another scene. Continue to the Dig
Site's entrance. When you get outside there will be another scene.
After it's over, if you have any Seal Ar's, equip them now. Head to the
Yggdrasil's gear dock and walk behind Weltall for some scenes. Then the
party menu will appear. Pick your party and there will be more scenes,
then a battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
Alkanshel
HP: 10500-13000 (?)
Exp: 132549
Gold: 30000
Treasure: E Circuit

Alkanshel has a barrier that prevents any damage, so don't attack him.
Just charge, and in a few turns, the battle will end momentarily. There
will be some scenes, then the battle will begin again with Alkanshel's
barrier being destroyed. Turn on booster and use 30 Fuel Attacks and
your highest Level Deathblows. Alkanshel will use his 'Mass Limit'
attack that will halve your HP, and his Seal will do about 1000 damage
to anyone without a Seal Ar. Make sure to keep your HP above 1500,
because when you kill Alkanshel, he will do a final attack. After the
battle are more scenes. After this battle, Billy will be able to use
his 'Jessie Cannon' gear option.

After the scenes, the party menu appears. Pick your party, then there
will be another scene. You will be in the Yggdrasil's bridge when it's
over. Head down to the gear shop in the gear dock and upgrade your
gears. When you're done, launch the Yggdrasil and head east to find
your next dungeon, Babel Tower.

                                                WaterVeil Ar

Head straight and go through the door. Follow the platform to the end
and drop to the lower section. Go inside and come out the hole in the
south side to find an Ether Ar. Drop down into the water to come up
below the entrance. Jump up three ledges and go under the fourth to
find an EarthVeil Ar. Jump to the fourth ledge and follow the path on
the west wall to get a Lite Ar+1. Go back south and then east. Jump
east, then south. Go through the hole in the small wall and jump
directly onto the chain. You will then see instructions on how to move
the chain. Swing the chain until you get enough momentum to jump to the
next platform. Follow it to a long finger-like section. This section
will drop when you step on it. It will drop to a certain point then
come back up, no matter how long you stay on it. First jump to the
middle of the section. When it begins to point downward, jump again so
you don't slip off. When it starts to come back up, jump to the end,
then jump to the roof of the next pathway to get a ThunderRodG. Then
drop down to the outside of the hole of the pathway and go in. Follow
it to the end and there will be a scene. Carefully move near the chain
and jump up to it to move to the relay station.

Head to the west end of the platform to see a character-sized door. Get
out of your gears and go through it. Inside is a Gold Nugget. Jump to
the chair and examine the computer panel next to it for some scenes. Go
back outside, get into your gears, and jump to the lower catwalk near
the train. You will then jump inside the train. Climb up the boxes to
the upper platform for a short scene and two treasures, and Ether Ar and
a Beam Jammer. Get out of your gears and climb up the handrails to the
door, then check the wall below it to jump up and into the next room.
You will find two more treasures, an Old Circuit and a Gold Nugget.
Jump up to a chair and check the computer panel above it to begin more
scenes, then, eventually, a battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
Wyvern
HP: 5000
Exp: 23652
Gold: 3000
Treasure: none

Turn on your boosters and use 30 Fuel Attacks and Level 1 Deathblows.
Wyvern has a 3 hit attack that will cause about 1200 damage, and his
'Mirror Stance' is back, so if he uses it, don't attack. After the
battle are more scenes.

After the scenes are over, head through the south door. Follow the path
to a hole, which has a treasure, a Ground, and another character-sized
door. Get out of your gears and go through it. Inside you will find
three treasures, an O2 Cylinder, a Gold Nugget, and an E Circuit. Check
the northernmost computer panel to unlock a door further in the Tower.
Exit the room. Jump on the cables to get out of the hole. Head south.
Soon you will come to a much deeper hole. Drop down and head north for
two more treasures, a Veil Doubler and a Wind Veil Ar. Head back south.
At the end of the path you will have to jump on more cables to continue
on. The north path leads back to the hole you fell down, so take the
south path. Soon you will come to a room with no floor and pipes
hanging down. You can't fall off the pipes, so don't worry. Head to
the other side, grabbing the Ice RodG and Fire Veil Ar on the way.

You will come into a vertically long room. Head to the northwest corner
to find a gear that will only heal and refuel you. Head south and grab
the Stone RodG under the red structure, then go back and jump on top of
it and head to the south side. Jump on top of a huge Traffic Jam.
There will be a battle, then it will begin to rise. When it gets near
the edge of another red structure, jump across to it. Head to the
north, jumping to a white platform, then another Traffic Jam. Ride it
up and get the treasure, a G-M10S Ammo, then jump to another white
platform. Follow it south, checking behind the crumbled section of
highway for a Gold Bullion. Jump to another Traffic Jam, and ride it
up. Jump off and follow the path north, checking behind another section
of highway for some G-GG060 Ammo. Jump on another Traffic Jam and ride
it up next to another white platform. Jump to it, then fall to the red
structure below. Check the hole in the northeast corner for a Flare
RodG, then ride back up to the white platform. Jump to the next red
structure for a WaterVeil Ar. Go next to the east wall, then jump down
into the gap, using the gray strip in the middle on the wall as a
guide line. You will fall down on another Traffic Jam. Ride it up,
then jump across to the south side. There will be some blue pipes.
Climb them to reach the top of the Tower. When you get there, head to
the middle of the platform to begin a scene, then a battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
Seibzehn
HP: 5500
Exp: 60000
Gold: 10000
Treasure: Heavy Alloy

Turn on your boosters and use 30 Fuel Attacks and your highest Level
Deathblows. Seibzehn can it for at least 1000 damage, so watch out. He
will sometimes heal himself for 400 HP, but it's nothing to worry about.
After the battle are more scenes.

After the scenes are over, you will be in the lower section of Shevat.
Go to the elevator in the center of the room and check it to ride it up.
You will be on the Shevat Map. First, walk in front of the white statue
and walk down the path in front of it. Examine the end to find a Dawn
Rock. Then head to the city on the northern side of Shevat, Apehl Aura.
Follow the path until you see a big white dog. Fall off to the ledge
next to him and go through the door next to where you land. There will
be a short scene. If you have the RPS Badge, H&S Badge, and the Tag
Badge, talk to the old yellow Chu-Chu between two display cases. He
will give you a random item and a Power Ring S in exchange for the
badges. Talk to a gray Chu-Chu under the platform. Answer him 'Not
necessarily...' to get two Aquasol S's and an Aquasol DX. If you jump
from the platform and talk to the pink Chu-Chu on the lamp, she will
give you hints on finding two more rocks like the Dawn Rock. You can
talk to the old yellow Chu-Chu on the platform to buy weapons and
accessories, and the orange Chu-Chu behind the counter to buy items.
When you're done, take the gray platform down. Head out the west door,
and talk to the old woman there. Tell her you like fishing to buy a
Spider Web from her for 50 gold if you don't already have one. She'll
also tell you can fish in the fountain in the other room. Go there
and jump to the top of the fountain. Check it o begin fishing. Soon,
a fish will bite, and you can choose to reel it in. Sometimes, however,
the line will break, causing you to buy another one. If you catch a big
red fish, you will get the Dark Rock. If not, keep trying. When you're
done, head back upstairs and outside. Take the east path. Follow it to
a house with a gray platform out front. First, go in the house and down
the platform near the door. Talk to the man in a cap to buy gear parts.
Upgrade your gears, then go back outside. Take the platform down to a
path to another house. Go inside, and check the doll for the Dusk Rock.
Go upstairs and into the room to the east for a scene, then check the
rocking horse for another scene. Before heading to the palace, go back
to the entrance of the town, and go down the platform near the old man.
Go downstairs, then through the door in the southwest corner. Go to the
lone platform and check it to put the three Rocks into it. Go up to go
to a secret room. Check the desk for the Chu-Chu Idol and a scene, then
check the shelf on the opposite side of the room for a Power Crisis,
Panalphasol, Hob-Steak, Physimentsol, Sampson'sHair, Yamato Belt, Hard
Star, Speed Star, ETH Drive, VIT Drive, STR Drive, ETHDEF Drive, HP
Drive, and an EP Drive. You can also check the north bookcase for some
info, then leave. Leave the city and go back to the Shevat Map. Walk
to the Statue to find the Entrance to Shevat Palace, and go in.

After you ride the elevator up, walk towards Maria to have her show you
where to go. Except for the northeast room, the other rooms are there
for you to explore, but there aren't any items in them. The northeast
room is a sleeping room with a save point. To rest, check a bed. When
you're done, follow Maria through the double doors. Keep going to meet
Queen Zephyr. Walk towards her for a scene, then go back to the
sleeping room. Rest, then go back and talk to the Queen. Say 'My heart
is set!' for some scenes. Eventually you will have to pick someone to
stay behind with the Queen to take Maria with you. Leave the palace.
On the way out, an orange Chu-Chu will talk to you, and you can buy
items/weapons/accessories/gear parts from him. Go to the Shevat Lower
Floor. On the way down there will be a scene, then go through the door
to enter the Emergency Shaft.

                        Whip-Lasher
                        Economether

When you enter, take the west path to find the Shevat Map. Then head
east to a door that leads to a stairway. Go down the stairs to find
another door on the north side that leads to another hallway. Take the
east path and go down the platform to get a Queen's Rod. Go back up and
take the west path. Take the platform down and head west. Go down a
ladder, then walk near the green jewel for info on what it does. Use
it, then jump on a platform and ride it east. Jump to the next pathway,
then go down a ladder, and take a platform down. In this area you can
use the Shevat Map. First, head south, past two splits, to find a
Battle Apron. Head back north and turn west at the first split you come
to. Follow this path until you see a door in the south wall. Go up the
stairs and into the next hallway to find a Ruby Helmet, Aquasol DX, and
a Rosesol DX. Go back downstairs to the previous hallway, then head
east, north, and turn west at the split. Follow this path until you see
another door in the south wall. Go down the stairs and into the next
hallway. Follow this path to a split. First, head south to find a
Whip-Lasher. Then head north to another split. The east split is
guarded by an enemy. The stairway doesn't lead anywhere new, but Big
Joe is inside if you want to talk to him. Continue north to find a
platform and ride it down. Jump east, follow the path down two ladders,
and ride two platforms to the west, taking another platform down.
Follow this hallway to a split. The west split leads to a save point,
and the south split leads to the exit. Check the manhole to exit the
Shaft.

Head through the door to the west and some double doors after it for
some scenes. Eventually, you will be back in the Queen's chamber. You
will have to pick people to defend Shevat's four generators. The best
people for these jobs are:

Generator 1: Elly
Generator 2: Billy
Generator 3: Fei
Generator 4: Bart

When you're done, and you're sure of your selection, you can go straight
to the battle, or get prepared first. If you get prepared, you can buy
items from the orange Chu-Chu, and Margie will be in the sleeping room
if you want to check character's equipment. When you're done, go back
to the Queen's chamber and say you're ready to begin the battles. It's
best to do the battles in numerical order, so start with Generator 1.
You will be able to check your equipment before each battle. When
you're done, the battle begins.

BATTLE (Gear)
Solaris Guard x 6, Littlefoot x 2
HP: 200 x 6, 600 x 2
Exp: 15000
Gold: 3000
Treasure: Silver Ar (Solaris Guard might drop Rosesol, Littlefoot might
                     drop Silver Ar+1)

First, use Aerods to get rid of the six Solaris Guards, then use 30 Fuel
Attacks to get rid of the Littlefoots.

After this battle, head to Generator 2.

BATTLE (Gear)
White Knight x 3
HP: 290 x 3
Exp: 8400
Gold: 1500
Treasure: (White Knight might drop Ether Ar and/or Light Ar+1)

A 20 Fuel Attack is all it takes to kill each White Knight.

After this battle, head to Generator 3. Equip Fei with the Silver Ar
(or Silver Ar+1 if you got it) then head into battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
Citadel, White Knight x 2
HP: 6000, 290 x 2
Exp: 10000
Gold: 21000
Treasure: Gold Plate (White Knight might drop Ether Ar and/or Light
                      Ar+1)

Turn on booster, then use a 30 Fuel Attack to get rid of each White
Knight. Then hit Citadel with 30 Fuel Attacks and Level 3 Deathblows.
Citadel can cause some serious damage, so watch out.

After this battle, head to Generator 4. Equip Bart with the Gold Plate
then head into battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
Avalanche, White Knight x 2
HP: 5000, 290 x 2
Exp: 10400
Gold: 21000
Treasure: Noise Filter (White Knight might drop Ether Ar and/or Light
                        Ar+1)

Turn on booster and use a 30 Fuel Attack to kill off each White Knight.
Then hit Avalanche with 30 Fuel Attacks and Level 3 Deathblows. Like
Citadel, Avalanche can cause some serious damage, so keep your HP up.

After the last Generator battle, there will be some scenes, then another
battle.

BATTLE (Gear, sort of)
Achtzehn
HP: 3000 (?)
Exp: 20000
Gold: 0
Treasure: none

Just use Strong Attacks against Achtzehn. None of his attacks will hit
Chu-Chu. After about 3000 damage, the battle will end in a scene.

After this battle are more scenes, then another battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
Achtzehn
HP: 12000
Exp: 30000
Gold: 10000
Treasure: WizardryRing

Turn on booster and use 30 Fuel Attacks and Level 3 Deathblows.
Achtzehn's attacks can cause over 1000 damage, but you should be able
to finish him before your HP gets too low. When you beat him, the
battle ends in a scene.

After the battle are more scenes. Gaspar will remove a part of your
Limiter, allowing you to learn 7 AP deathblows. When the scenes are
over, you will be in the sleeping room. Head down to the Shevat Lower
Floor. Take the south platform to the Yggdrasil, and launch it. You
can use this time to learn your 7 AP deathblows, which will make future
character battles much easier. When you're done, head to Nisan.

                            Nisan Revisited
                        ------------------------

Shakhan Guard 250 6518 45

                        Desert Worm Deathblower1

When you enter Nisan proper, there will be some scenes, then you will
get into a series of battles with Shakhan's guards. When you've killed
them all, there will be more scenes. Eventually, you will have to pick
a third party member, and after a short scene, you will be in control.
You can buy items from the tool shop, then head out of Nisan through the
northwest exit. Follow this road behind the cathedral and talk to
Margie. You will go into the mausoleum. Margie will go with you. When
you get into battles, she will occasionally heal you or attack enemies.
If she attacks them, and it's a critical hit, it will kill the enemy.
Otherwise, it will only deal 1 damage. After a short scene, head down-
stairs. Soon you will come to a chamber, and there will be a scene.
You will have to find a panel. You can have Margie show you, or you can
find it yourself. If you want to find it yourself, check the northeast
corner. When you find it, there will be another scene, then head
inside. When you get in, there will be a battle. Afterwards, there are
more scenes. After they're over, go into the elevator in the center of
the room and go up. Exit the elevator for a short scene, then follow
the path to a door. Go through it for more scenes, then go through the
new door. Head north then turn west at the split and go through the
door for another scene. You will find the Desert Worm in this room.
You can check the computer panel north of the center for a scene. Then
head through the north door and head east when the path splits. Take
the elevator up. Exit, and when the path splits, take the southwest
split. Go through the door and follow the path until you see the third
door in the wall. Go through and to the end of the hall to find a
Deathblower1. Go back out the door and continue heading north. Go
through the next door you see and to the end of the hall. Go through
the door on the northwest wall. Check the eye-scanner for some scene,
then go back out and through the southeast door. Head into the opening
at the southwest for more scenes. Then walk between the gear's legs and
examine the wall for more scenes. After they're over, head back to the
room you got the Desert Worm for a short scene. You can buy items from
the tool guy. When you're done, check the earlier computer panel for
more scenes. When they're over, head back to the room with the gear.
When you get to the hallway before it, there will be more scenes. When
they're over, head to the gear. Eventually, you will get into a battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
Neo Etone x 2
HP: 3300 x 2
Exp: 30510
Gold: 10000
Treasure: Seal Barrier (Neo Etones might drop Seal Ar's)

You can use 30 Fuel Attacks and Level 1 Deathblows to take these guys
out, or you can use a new attack. Bart getting his new gear unlocks for
most of the party a new ability called 'Hyper mode'. Get to Attack Level
3, and each time you charge, there is a percent chance of going into
Hyper mode. This percent is shown in the text on the right side of the
screen. The percentage depends on how much HP you have left. The less
HP you have, the higher the percentage. When you get into Hyper mode,
you will be able to use your Infinity Attacks.

After the battle are more scenes. When they're over, you will be back
in Nisan. You have to go to a cave west of Nisan. If you want to
change the third person in your party, talk to the person you want to
exchange them with your current third party member. Also, make sure to
heal and refuel your gears before leaving. When you're done, leave
Nisan.

Head west of Nisan. Before entering the cave, equip any Seal Ar's you
have and the Seal Barrier, then enter. A little ways into the cave, you
will get into a battle. When it's over, keep going, and go through the
door at the end. There will be some scenes, then you will get into a
battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
Shakhan
HP: 18500-19000 (?)
Exp: 218343
Gold: 30000
Treasure: Ether Ar+1

Turn on booster, then try to get into Hyper mode. Shakhan will connect
with the gate, so he won't be able to counter attack. However, he will
heal for 1000 every so often. When he disengages from the gate, he will
counter attack. When he reconnects, however, every time you hit him, he
will heal for 1000 damage, in addition to healing every so often. So
unless you are in Hyper mode, or can do more than 1000 damage, just
charge until he disengages again.

After the battle will be more scenes. When they're over, exit the cave.
There will be more scenes. Eventually, you will be flying in the
Yggdrasil. For an additional scene, head to Bledavik. In one of the
houses, there is a grandmother who is waiting for her son to come back
from the war. She at first mistakes you for her son. When you try to
leave, there is a scene that's kind of nice (scene submitted by
honeydipps). When done, get back in the Yggdrasil and head to Babel
Tower and enter.

                         Babel Tower Revisited
                        ------------------------

There will be a short scene, then go through the south door. Control
will switch to Billy's team, and the party menu will come up. Pick your
third party member, then control goes back to Citan's team. Equip
Elly's gear with the Flare RodG, then head to the hole and go into the
control room. There will be some scenes, then you will get into a
battle.

*Theory: If you defeat both enemies within three or four rounds, you
should get both drives for treasure. If you don't, you should get one.
However, it seems that six drives are the maximum you can get from the
next four battles.

BATTLE (Gear)
Bladegash, Marinebasher
HP: 4000, 5000
Exp: 51024
Gold: 10000
Treasure: EP Drive, ETHDEF Drive

Have Elly turn on booster and Fei hit Marinebasher with a 30 Fuel
Attack. Have Elly hit Marinebasher with a 30 Fuel Attack and Fei hit it
with a Level 1 Deathblow. If Marinebasher doesn't die, have Elly hit it
with another 30 Fuel Attack. Then concentrate on hitting Bladegash with
30 Fuel Attacks and Level 1 Deathblows until it dies. Don't worry about
its ether sword, you should kill it before it causes too much damage.

After the battle are more scenes, then Billy's team gets into a battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
Skyghene, Grandgrowl
HP: 5000, 6000
Exp: 51024
Gold: 10000
Treasure: VIT Drive, ETH Drive

Turn on booster, and hit Skyghene with 30 Fuel Attacks and Level 1
Deathblows until it dies. Then do the same to Grandgrowl.

After the battle are more scenes, then Citan's group will battle again.

BATTLE (Gear)
Bladegash, Marinebasher
HP: 4000, 5000
Exp: 51024
Gold: 10000
Treasure: EP Drive, ETHDEF Drive

Use the same strategy you used to defeat them last time, healing when
necessary.

After the battle are more scenes, then Billy's team gets into another
battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
Skyghene, Grandgrowl
HP: 5000, 6000
Exp: 51024
Gold: 10000
Treasure: VIT Drive, ETH Drive

After the battle are more scenes. Eventually, you will be on the bridge
of the Yggdrasil. Launch and head for the Thames.

When you dock at the Thames, first head to the Supply Dock and upgrade
your gears. Also, equip anti-electric parts. When you're done, head to
the Bridge and talk to the Captain for more scenes. When they're over,
head back to the Yggdrasil. Talk to Sigurd to head to Sargasso Point.

                             Sargasso Point

                        Mermaid Mail Deathblower2
                        Dark Rod

There will be a scene, then you will be in the cave. Head straight,
then when the path splits, take the right split, as the left split is a
dead-end. Follow the path to another split, and take the right path
again. Follow it to go to a small cavern with a Mermaid Mail and a save
point. Jump back in the water. Head back to the split and take the
left split. When the path splits again, the right split will push you
back, so make your way to the left split. Follow it to go to another
cavern room with a Dark Rod, and the other treasure chest is a switch to
stop the right split from pushing you back. Head back there and follow
that path until you are picked up and swept farther down. Keep going to
find the last cavern room with a Deathblower2. Before going through the
door, unequip your anti-electric parts for something you'd prefer. Go
through the door for some scenes, then a battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
Crescens
HP: 14800
Exp: 253260
Gold: 10000
Treasure: none

Turn on booster and hit Crescens with your strongest attacks. Her
attacks can cause a lot of damage, so watch out.

After the battle are more scenes. Eventually, you will be in the sleep-
ing room in Shevat. You must use this time to do anything you need to
do on the World Map. If you plan on using Emeralda, try to get some of
her 7 AP deathblows. When you're fully prepared, return to Queen
Zephyr's chamber. Say that you're ready in order to leave for Solaris.

There will be some scenes, then you will be in Solaris. Head left and
walk to the open end of the tube for more scenes. When they're over,
exit the tube for another scene. Head to the northwest section of the
area and get into the last block's elevator to find Elly and a scene.
Exit the tube and go to the block between the watchtower and the dust
chute. Take the elevator and talk to the man in the tube for a scene.
Agree to go with him to get the Work Permit. Head to the watchtower
and talk to the guard for a short scene. Follow the path and go into
the second tube. Take it up and go through the door. Make your way to
the west corner, but make sure to stay out of the Security Cubes' line
of sight, as they will catch you and send you back to the front door if
they see you. When you get there, go through the door and up the tube.
Go to the next tube and go down to find an Aquasol DX. Head back up and
continue to follow the path. Soon there will be a scene. When it's
over, go through the door for a short scene, then head out the northeast
door. Follow the path and go through one of the four white doors. You
can buy items and weapons/armor here. When done, exit and head north-
east. When you see a building with a revolving door, enter it. Go up
the elevator and enter the southeast room. Talk to the woman in red for
Tickets to the dedication ceremony. Go back downstairs and exit. Head
southeast and keep going until you see a guard in black. Walk near him
for a short scene, then walk past him to begin more scenes. Eventually,
you will end up in the sewer. Head through it, picking up the Crimson
Vest, Aquasol DX, and FeatheredCap along the way. You will also be
attacked by Security Cubes if they catch you. Keep going and climb up
the ladder at the end. Check the gate for a scene, then go inside the
house for more scenes. When they're over, leave Elly's room and head
downstairs to the room southeast from Elly's. Go in and talk to Elly's
mother for a short scene. Then exit the room and go to the room across
from that one. Talk to the woman inside for a Psycho Rod. Exit the
room and head upstairs to the room northeast from Elly's. Go in and
check the computer on the desk for more scenes. When they're over, go
up the stairs and head back to the government office you first came out
of. Go in and when you walk near the southeast door there will be a
scene. When it's over, make your way back to the 3rd Class District.
When you get there, head west to the dust chute. Examine it to go in.
Check the panel on the northeast side of the machine for more scenes.
Exit Elly's room to get the Army Cardkey and more scenes.

When they're over, check the panel again for another scene, then head
through the door to the northwest. Keep going until you see a fan in
the floor. Push the metal block at the southwest until it falls in the
fan, stopping it. Fall down the northeast side and go through the door.
Follow the path to a split. Take the southeast split to get a
Hob-Steak, then take the northeast split to a door. Go through and jump
on the boxes to get an Aquasol DX. When you begin to leave, there is a
scene. Leave and head southwest to the raised platform for a short
scene, then head to the northwest to find a door and a Hob-Steak. Go
through the door and check both sides of the computer panel in the west
corner. One will tell you the Lock-off code for the scanners in the
previous room. Check the computer panel in the northeast part of the
room to activate the code panel. For each block there is on top, it
will make the opposite of what is below it. In the case of codes, let
a space=0 and a block=1. The code to deactivate the scanners is 0101.
There are two more codes you can input. 1001 for a Gold Nugget, and
1111 for a Gold Bullion. When you've gotten everything, head back
outside. Go down to the northwestern conveyor belt and head northeast
to get to the other side of the room. When you get near the door there
is a scene. Go through the door for more scenes. When they're over,
head to the south corner, grabbing the Zetasol and Gold Nugget on the
way. Go through the door and another door. Take the platform up.
Follow the path to a big room and go through the southeast door. Follow
the path, heading into both offshoots from the main path. Each offshoot
has a room with a treasure in it. They are an Aquasol DX and a
SurvivalTent. Head through the door at the end of the path. You will
be on a small walkway. Head to the middle and check the small panel for
a short scene, then go through the next door. Soon you will be in a
room with cages. A man in the second cage will talk to you when you get
near. Each cage has an item, and after the man talks to you, you can
open them at the panel on the wall next to the cages. But to get the
treasure, you must first fight the cage's occupant. The treasures are
a Hob-Meat, Muscle Belt, and a Scales. When you've gotten the items,
continue through the southwest door. Soon you will be in a room with
more cages. The items in here are an Angelic Robe, Eyeball, and a
Hob-Steak. When you've gotten these, continue southwest. Follow the
path, entering both offshoots. Each offshoot has two rooms with an item
in each room. They are an Eyeball and an Extra Ar+6, and a Hob-Meat and
a Gold Nugget. After the offshoots is a door. Go through for an
Aquasol DX, and check the control panel to open a lock at the end of the
path. Exit and head northeast through a door. Go up the stairs and
through the pink door for two treasures, an Aquasol DX and a
SurvivalTent, then go through the southeast door. Head straight and go
through the southeast door. Check the middle southwest part of the room
for a Silver Ar+1, then go through two doors to the southeast, then a
northwest door. You will be in another cage room. This cage has two
items, but about 10 monsters, one of which is pretty tough.

BATTLE (Character)
Bloody Bros
HP: 4242/4242
Exp: 51402
Gold: 6000
Treasure: none

These guys are exactly like Redrum and Bloody. Immediately revive
anyone killed by 'Murder', and don't use fire attacks, as they will heal
them. Except for 'Murder', these guys shouldn't give you any trouble.

The two items in the cage are an Ether Veiler and a Deathblower3. After
getting them, head back outside and go through the southeast door. Keep
going and eventually the path will split. Take the southwest split.
This path has two offshoots with a room and item each. They are a Dark
Helm and a Dark Armor. The first room also has a computer panel that
plays an audio sequence that is a password. The room at the end of the
path has some B&JM686SAmmo. Head back to the split and head northeast.
Soon you will come to a locked door that requires the audio password you
heard earlier. Press Up, Down, Up, Left, and Right for the correct
sequence. Head past it and turn southwest. This hallway has three
doors. Each door leads to a stairway with an item inside. They are a
Silver Ar+1, an Extra Ar+6, and a Survival Tent. Head upstairs and to
the northwest for an Extra Ar DX. Then head southeast for more
offshoots from the main hallway with rooms with items. They are a Sonic
Wave, a Silver Ar+1, a Gold Nugget, and a Speed Ring S. The room with
the Speed Ring S has holograms of all the party members. Check them for
info. Soon after this room you will come to a big door. Check it for
some scenes. When you're in control again, head southwest then
southeast, and go through the door for more scenes.

When you're in control again, head southwest. When you get to the end
of the shaft, there will be more scenes. Head southwest again, and go
through the door at the end of the path for a scene. You can buy items
from Hammer. From this point on, Citan will use a sword, making him the
strongest character. Get the party members you want, then head out the
southeast door. The door right after the hallway turns leads to a
B&JM686SAmmo. Past this door the hallway will split. Take the north-
west door. Keep straight to another door and go through it. In this
hallway, the third door on the northwest wall leads to a Panalphasol, a
Save Point, and a Party Change Point. Continue through the hallway and
through the door at the end. Keep straight through another door, then
when the path splits, head south. The door just after the split leads
to a ShotG70 Ammo. Keep going through another door to a pathway that
leads to the next section.

Follow the hallway southwest, then turn northwest. Keep straight and a
door on the northeast wall leads to an Aquasol DX. The hallway splits
after this door. The southwest split leads to a Panalphasol. Then head
down the northwest split. The door after the hallway turns leads to a
SurvivalTent, Save Point, and Party Change Point. After this door the
path splits. Take the southeast split. The hallway will split again.
Take the southwest split. The door here leads to an Aquasol DX. Follow
the hallway to another split, and head southwest to a door that leads to
the final section.

First turn southeast, then follow the hallway to another split. The
southeast split leads to a Save Point. Head southwest, and soon the
path splits again. The northwest leads to a SurvivalTent, the southeast
to the hanger where the rest of the party is waiting. Enter, then head
southwest for some scenes. Eventually, the party menu comes up. Pick
your party, and when you're done, you enter battle.

BATTLE (Character)
Grahf, Executioner
HP: 6666, 4444
Exp: 278415
Gold: 0
Treasure: none

First concentrate on getting rid of the Executioner. A few deathblows
are all it should take. Then hit Grahf with deathblows until he goes
down. They shouldn't give you too much trouble, but make sure to keep
your HP up just in case.

After the battle are a lot more scenes. Eventually, you will be able to
save, then you will have to insert Disc Two.

There will be many more scenes. Eventually, you will regain control.
Follow Taura out of the room for more scenes. When they're over, head
to the west end of the house and go inside to the Nanoreactor room for a
scene. Then head back into the previous room for more scenes.
Eventually, Fei will get into a battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
Vendetta
HP: 12000
Exp: 0
Gold: 0

Fei starts the battle with 'System Id' activated. Use your best
Infinity Attack until Vendetta goes down. It's attacks won't cause you
much damage.

After the battle are more scenes.

                              Defend Nisan
                        ------------------------

Soon you will be able to save, then more scenes follow. Then Bart will
get into a battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
Ft. Hurricane
HP: 15000
Exp: 32367
Gold: 50000
Treasure: none

The battle starts with a scene. You can use 30 Fuel Attacks, and there
is a special option, the 'Ygg Cannon'. It has a huge fuel cost, but
this is the only chance to use it. Ft. Hurricane won't be able to cause
nearly enough damage to get you down to even a tenth of your HP, so
don't worry.

After the battle are more scenes.

                              Sufal Fight
                        ------------------------

Eventually, you will be able to change party members, check the main
menu, and save. After you're prepared, you will get into a battle.

BATTLE (Character)
Sufal Mass, Sufal x 4
HP: 4800, 1300 x 4
Exp: 97197
Gold: 30000
Treasure: Pilot Shield (Sufals might drop Gold Nuggets)

First, kill off three of the Sufals, making sure to leave the last one
alive throughout the entire battle. If you kill it, the Sufal Mass will
start doing a great deal more damage. Also, the Sufal Mass can't be
hurt by element attacks, like your 7 AP deathblows. The exceptions are
Light and Dark elements.

After the battle are more scenes.

                             Anima Relic 1

Gold Bullion Ether Guard
SurvivalTent Starlight
Zetasol DX WizardryRing

Soon, you will be in the Anima Relic 1. Near you is a gear that will
sell you items, a Save Point, and a Party Change Point. Head east to
an Ether Guard, and west to find a Starlight. When you're done, head
north and enter the dungeon. Head north, then turn west at the split to
find a Gold Bullion, then turn east. Follow the path to another split,
and head west. Soon you will be in a darkened room with a WizardryRing.
Check the panel in the upper northwest corner, then go back to the split
and head north. You will be on the other side of the room. Check the
box in the south corner to find a fuse. Return to the other side and
put the fuse in the panel. Check the computer panel to unlock all Type
A doors. Exit through the north door. When the path splits, first head
west for a SurvivalTent, then head southwest to another split. Go south
to another room. Inside is a Zetasol DX. Check the northeast computer
panel to activate the main system. However, you must first enter the
password. The columns behind you are the password itself. They're
lettered, from left to right, A to D. The numbers for the corresponding
letter is the position of the missing panel in that column, from top to
bottom. The correct password is 0320. When you main system is active,
check the west computer panel to unlock all Type B doors. Exit the room
and take the south split. It leads to a big circular room. The south
door leads back to the entrance, the north to a computer terminal. The
north panel unlocks the elevator in the center of the previous room, and
the east and west panels give hints for an upcoming password. Go back
outside and take the elevator down. In this room, check the small panel
to the west. It will show you two rows of numbers, with letters at the
beginning and end of each row. Like the earlier hint said, both rows of
numbers must add up to be equal without using a number twice. Panel A
is next to this panel, panel B is at the north side of the room, panel C
to the east, and panel D to the south. To solve this puzzle, both rows
must equal 26. For this to happen, A+C=10 and B+D=9. You can use any
number as long as you don't duplicate it. For instance, A=2, B=5, C=8,
and D=4. When you've inputted the numbers, head back to the small panel
and release the lock. Get in the elevator and head down. When you get
down, head east. When you get to the Anima Relic room, check the panel
to begin some scenes. Soon you will begin a battle.

HP: 4000, 2500, 2000, 2000
Exp: 15000

They aren't difficult, but remember not to attack them with their

After the battle are more scenes, then another battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
G Elements
HP: 45000
Exp: 319068
Gold: 30000
Treasure: Kishin Sword

Turn on booster and use your strongest attacks. G Elements' attacks are
nothing to worry about, except for its 'Kishin Sword' attack. When its
health gets low, it will begin to use it, causing about 9000 damage per
hit, so when it begins using it, finish it off quickly. Don't sell the
Kishin Sword, as it will have a use later.

After the battle are many more scenes.

                        King's Helm
                        EtherDoubler

Eventually, the party menu will appear. Pick your party, then you will
be in the Anima Relic 2. Shopkeep Johnny is back, but he doesn't have
any new items. Check the big rock to the north and push it to the east.
Get out of your gears and go through the door. Check the first pillar
and Fei will say something. Check the writing on the front of the
pillars and four places on the walls. The first is on the middle of the
west wall, the second west of the door on the south wall, the third in
the corner of the south and east wall, and the fourth at the northern
end of the east wall. They all give hints on how to find the three
stones that need to be put in the holes at the north side of the room.
To find the first stone, check the back of the west pillar. To get the
second, jump on the first, then the middle pillar, then jump in the air.
To find the third, walk west from the first stone and check the wall
around the dark band. When you've found them, push them into the holes.
When you do it, there will be a scene. Go back outside and jump into
the canyon to find two treasures, an Aquasol DX and an Ether Guard.
Jump back up, and then cross the canyon using the new pathway. Go
through the door to an underground lake. Go to the southeast edge, get
out of your gears, and walk the small ledge to a door. It leads to a
room with a SurvivalTent and another door. In this room there are
trapdoors in the floor that you will drop through if you step on them.
First, jump next to the first treasure, a Rose Tabard, then jump to the
second one, an Aquasol DX. Finally, jump near the pedestal at the east
end of the room. Walk west from the pedestal, and as soon as you fall,
press against the east wall. Near the bottom of the hole you will walk
into a secret passageway. Follow it to another room. When you walk to
the center, the spiked ceiling will begin to lower. Don't jump to the
south, or you will fall through another trapdoor. Stay in the center to
find out that the ceiling has no center. When it finishes descending,
jump on it and ride it up to find another door. Go through it to find
another puzzle. You must get the water from it's current level of 10 to
level 5. However, you can only raise or lower it by 3 and 7 levels at a
time. There are four switches near the edge of the pool you must use to
complete this task. In the middle, the northern switch raises the
water, the southern lowers it. In the corner of the north wall and the
water is a switch that changes the amount of water raised or lowered to
3. The switch in the corner of the south wall and the water changes the
amount of water raised or lowered to 7. One method of solving this
puzzle is:

Lower the water by 3 three times. Water Level=1
Raise the water by 7 once. Water Level=8
Lower the water by 3 once. Water Level=5

When you solve it, there will be a scene. Then head through the door.
First head south to get a Beastly Robe, then push the rock to the west
and follow the path. Head back to your gears, then head into the lake-
bed, getting the King's Helm and EtherDoubler. Go through the door to
the east. You will be in another cavern room near a save point (I
recommend saving). Head up to the east and through the door. In the
Anima Relic room, check the panel for some scenes, and soon, a battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
Hammer
HP: 48000-50000 (?)
Exp: 348174
Gold: 0
Treasure: Trader Card (if killed before self-destructing)

When Hammer has taken 30000 damage, he glows red. This means that soon
he will self-destruct, and you won't get the Trader Card, a very
important item. To get it, you must kill him before he self-destructs.
To do it, have everyone turn on boosters. Have Fei use System Id, and
have the other two members get to Attack Level 3. When you have done
about 25000 damage to Hammer, have everyone charge until one of the
party members at Attack Level 3 goes into Hyper mode. When one does,
have them use their Infinity Attacks, have Fei use System Id, and have
the other party member hit with their Level 3 Deathblow. This method
should allow you to kill Hammer before he self-destructs, enabling you
to get the Trader Card.

After the battle are many more scenes.

Eventually, you will be in the Yggdrasil. When you're in control, head
down the stairs and enter the southwest room for more scenes.

                                 Merkava

After these scenes, you can pick your party, check the main menu, and
save. When you're prepared, there will be a few more scenes, then a
battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
Deus
40000
Exp: 363345
Gold: 30000
Treasure: none

If you hit Deus, he will heal himself for 16000, so just charge. Deus
will use a move that halves everyone's HP, even his. Wait until Deus
uses this three times, so his health is at 5000. Then have Fei use
System Id. If it doesn't kill him, you will have to wait until his
health gets low again. If you don't think you can do 5000 damage to
Deus, wait for him to halve everyone's HP again so his health is at
2500, then hit him with System Id.

There will be more scenes, then another battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
Alpha Weltall
HP: 130000-150000 (?)
Exp: 0
Gold: 0
Treasure: Slayers Robe (?)

A strategy to beat him was submitted by wizard of the doom:

"Alpha weltall is quite easy if you know what you're doing. The team
i used (i think it's the best team against him) was Fei, Bart, Billy.
The equipments were as follow:

Fei: Evasion Ring, Evasion Ring, Evasion Ring
Bart: Evasion Ring, Evasion Ring, Trader Card, Wonder Whip (doesnt
matter)... if u have Speed Shoes, put in Bart and Trader Card in
      Fei
Billy: Evasion Ring, Evasion Ring, Ether Doubler

Weltall-2: Magnetic Coat, Magnetic Coat (or GNS50), Frame HP50
Andvari: Magnetic Coat, Magnetic Coat, Frame HP50, Sonic GWhip
El-Renmazuo: Old Circuit, Power Magic, Power Magic

All gears use N55-5800, the best Frame upgrade and a 60/25 Armor

In the first turn, use boosters. Then use Fei's System Id and use
Kishin until it wears off (6k or 9k with GNR50). Billy should use
Jessie Cannon every turn (10k dmg). Bart will use Wild Smile when he
gets a turn (booster on first though) and alternate with 30 fuel atk/
wild smile, using lv3 deathblows when possible. With his Sonic GWhip
on, Alpha Weltall's eth atk will do little dmg, and because of Wild
Smile + Evasion Rings + high response he'll rarely hit u. If Bart gets
with low HP use Frame HP, Billy wont have it equipped so dont use it
:P, and heal weltall only if u have enough fuel and have less than 12k
HP (System Id consumes 1k fuel)

I'm not sure but i guess he has around 130-150k HP. That is the optimum
way to beat him... when i tried it, i thought Wild Smiling in the first
turn was more important than boosters (dont make the same mistake) and
since Andvari is slow Bart dies b4 he got a second turn... even though,
i could beat him! so he's not that hard... and i didnt even had a
GNS50...

btw, Evasion Rings and the latest tune-ups can be done with Shopkeeper
Johnny; GNS50 and Speed Shoes can only be acquired through Kislev
Battling (i had neither, it's not really necessary... just makes things
easier)

Hope it helps you... the basic strategy is that, u could obviously make
it different or with other party (just dont use Fenrir)"

After this battle are more scenes. Eventually, you will be able to
save. After that, there are more scenes. Eventually, you will be back
in Merkava. Head east to find a gear that sells you items and gear
parts. Head back, save, pick your party, then head north. Soon there
will be some scenes, then a battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
Amphysvena
HP: 30000
Exp: 189465
Gold: 50000
Treasure: Golden Vest

Don't turn on booster, as you will need to conserve your fuel. After
Amphysvena uses its 'Wave #3 Demiser' to reduce your HP to 1, have
everyone heal, then use your strongest attacks. If anyone's HP gets low
or Amphysvena uses 'Wave #3 Demiser' again, heal.

After the battle are more scenes, then another battle.

BATTLE (Gear)
Opiomorph
HP: 25000-30000 (?)
Exp: 189465
Gold: 50000
Treasure: ExecutorGown

Don't turn on booster just yet. Have Fei charge and the other two
members use a 30 Fuel Attack. Charge until Opiomorph uses its 'Wave #4
Devastator'. Heal, then repeat this until the other two members are at
Attack Level 3. Turn on booster and charge until one of them goes into
Hyper Mode. Have that person attack with their strongest Infinity
Attack, have Fei use System Id, and have the third person use a Level 3
Deathblow, and then 30 Fuel Attacks and Level 1 Deathblows. Heal when
necessary.

After the battle are many more scenes. Soon you will be able to save.
There will be more scenes.

coat to play the card game from the Thames. Beat him once to get an
Emer Jr.Doll. Beat him five times to get an Elly Jr.Doll. After you
get this, however, he won't play the game anymore. When you're
finished, head northeast, then north. Go through the northeast door.
Head northeast, then northeast through a door. Talk to Dan for a scene,
then talk to Midori. If you got Midori's Ring way back at the beginning
of the game, she will give you a Hercules Ring. If you didn't get it,
you can go back to the Lahan area, go up the Mountain Path to Citan's
House and check the flowerbed for another Midori's Ring. You can't get
two Hercules Rings from her, though. Head back southwest, then south-
east. Go to the top of the building and talk to Queen Zephyr for some
scenes. Go back to the central room. Talk to the person behind the
north counter to buy gear parts. Follow the passageway behind her.
When you get to the giant room, head west to find a man who will upgrade
Citan's Kishin Sword to the Kijin Sword. You will have to de-equip it
from Citan's gear before he will do it. Head back to the central room
and talk to the man near the gray platform with birds on it. Offer to
buy them and you will have to pay 20000 gold, but they will fly away.
Take the platform up. Check all the display cases for items: Hero
Costume, Hercules Ring, Vivid Turban, Speed Shoes, Yamato Belt, and
Wizardry Ring. Go back down when you have them all. Go through the
northeast door. Talk to the man, and if you give him a Gold Nugget, and
later a Gold Bullion, he will dig and find a jukebox. One of the
passageways leads to a room with cats. Also in this room is the family
of the grandmother from Bledavik (found by honeydipps). When you're
done at the Snowfield Hideout, head through the west door to go to the
World Map. Get in the Yggdrasil. Go inside and head to Margie's room.
Talk to her for a scene (this scene found by honeydipps), then head to
the Gear Dock. Head to the middle of the west side to find Chu-Chu.
Walk behind her and talk to the man. Ask to hear the lowdown on the
gear for a scene. When it's over, head to the bridge and talk to Sigurd
for another scene, then launch the Yggdrasil. Head northeast to find
Taura's House in the middle of a forest.

Head inside Taura's house, and you'll find him in the Nanoreactor room.
Talk to him for a short scene, and he'll give your a Manly Mantle and a
Goddess Robe. Head back outside. If you got the Trader Card, you can
walk around this forest and when you get into a battle with a Slugger,
it will drop a Speed Shoes, a very useful item. When you're done here,
get in the Yggdrasil. Head to the big island west of Bart's Hideout
that is mostly desert to find Duneman's Isle.

Land the Yggdrasil in the grassland at the south part of the island.
Head north to find the entrance. When you enter, there will be a scene,
and if you choose not to leave, a battle. You must be careful in this
area, as there is a Dragon encountered in random battles that is very
difficult.

ENCOUNTER
Dragon
HP: 18000
Exp: 91500
Gold: 0
Treasure: (one of these) Death Adder, Mumyo Sword, Blessed Helm, Blessed
          Habit, Kaiser Helm

The Dragon's 'Dragon Breath' does about 500 damage to each party member,
so if you can't take that much damage, run away! Wind, Earth, Fire, and
Water attacks heal him, including deathblows, so be sure you don't hit
him with any.

Head east three screens, and north one screen. There will be a short
scene. Instead of following the Sand Sharks west, head north. Climb up
the skeleton and draw the sword from its back to get the Yamato Sword
and a scene. Head back south, then west. There is another scene.
There are two treasures here, a Kingly Armor and the Godfather, but you
can only get one at a time, so you'll have to make at least two trips.
The first time you fall down the sandfall, you will get in a battle.

BATTLE (Character)
Wyrm
HP: 70 (?)
Exp: 3132
Gold: 0
Treasure: Eyeball

This guy is easy, one ether attack should kill him.

When you want to leave, fall down the sandfall and head west one screen.
The first time you come here, there will be a Dune Man next to a sand
buggy. If you help him push it out of the sand, he will offer to take
you out of Duneman's Isle. Any other time you come here, however, he
won't be there. But you can leave by heading west a few screens. Get
in the Yggdrasil and head north of Babel Tower to find the Lighthouse.

                                                Z Charger

Before you enter, be sure to put Emeralda in your party. Go to the
elevator to head down. Head south to find a Deathblower3, then head
east, then south, then east to find a Deathblower2. Head back west,
then north. You will see an alley between two buildings. Get out of
your gears and walk into it to find a G-Godfather. The building next to
the alley has a doorway. Head inside and look behind the stage for a
SurvivalTent. Go upstairs and check the northeast panel for some
scenes. Go back outside and head north to find another doorway. Go
inside, and you can check some of the book stacks on the bookshelves for
some info. Head upstairs to find a Deathblower1 and more book stacks.
Go back outside and head east to find another doorway. Go inside to
find Big Joe. He will sell you items and gear parts, the best in the
game. The four treasure chests around him are always random, but they
reappear each time you enter this building. Leave and head east, then
south. Go to the southwest corner of the street to find a crack. Get
out of your gears and enter it. Follow the pathway. Enter the subway
car to find a Z Charger, then go up the stairs. If you brought
Emeralda, follow the path for some scenes. When they're over, Emeralda
will become an adult. Leave the subway and exit the Lighthouse. If you
have the Mermaid Tear, go back to the Snowfield Hideout with Emeralda in
your party. Go through the southeast door and follow the path to an old
lady near some rubble. Talk to her, and she'll take the Mermaid Tear
and give you a Mermaid Ring. This only works with Adult Emeralda in the
party. Exit the Snowfield Hideout and head to Nortune.

Check the blue crystal in the center of Nortune to exchange your Hob-
Jerky, Fang, Eyeball, Scales, Hob-Meat, Hob-Steak, and Ivory for gold.
Head to the Battling Arena. Big Joe is here, and next to him is a
jukebox you can listen to. You can battle for points that can be traded
for items. Talk to the center girl behind the counter to battle and the
east girl to exchange points. When you're done, exit Nortune.

                              Get Prepared
                        ------------------------

The only thing left to do is begin your assault on Deus. But before you
enter Merkava, you should make sure you're prepared, as there are some
powerful enemies inside. First, make sure your gears have their best
parts equipped. Also, you might want to buy some GNRS50's for each gear
you're going to use in Merkava to make the fights a bit easier. If you
need money, there are two ways to get some, and having the Trader Card
makes these ways better. You can fight in the snow-covered areas to get
Golden Vests and Golden Hoods, and sell them. You can also go to the
Anima Relic 2 and get Scales and Ivory, and trade them for gold in
Nortune. When you're prepared, fly to the island south of the Anima
Relic 2 to find Merkava, and enter.

                                                Pilot Shield

Head north, then enter the opening that appears. When you drop down,
you will get the Merkava Map. This allows you to view the map by
pressing Select. There are no treasures in this section, so first head
north, then northeast. Head north, making sure to avoid the laser beam,
then head northeast, then southeast. Head northeast, avoiding another
laser beam. Southeast leads to a save point, and north leads to the
next section.

Walk to the end of the platform and fall off. You will fall down a long
tube with laser beams placed throughout. Try to avoid them, but even if
they hit you, they don't cause much damage. Soon you will fall into the
next section.

You will fall to the top of a platform. You can view the map of this
section by pressing Select, too. Head northeast for a short scene, then
check the yellow platform in the center of the platform. It will take
you to the lower level. First, head south, then go to the upper level.
Head southwest, then jump to the top of the center platform. Check the
bar there to push the lower pathway to the east. Go to the lower level
and follow the pathway east, north, then northeast. Jump to the top of
the center of the platform and check the glowing pillar to move a
pathway that connects to the exit. One down, one to go. Go back south-
west, south, west, then northwest. Head southwest, then southeast to
a doorway. Head south, east, then north to go back outside. Check
north of the center for some G-Godson Ammo, then go back south. Head
south. If you need to fix your gears, head southeast at the split and
follow the path to eventually find a gear that will heal you. If not,
head southwest, then south to go back outside. Head south and go to the
upper level. Head east then jump up the center and check the glowing
pillar to move the second pathway to the exit in place. Head back west,
and go to the lower level. Head southwest, south, then west to another
doorway. Head west, southwest, south, and southwest to go back outside
for a Pilot Shield. Head back southeast, northeast, east, northwest,
then north to go back outside. Follow the pathway to an opening in the
floor that leads to the final section. You will have to fall down
another tube with laser beams. Soon you will be in the area you fought
Amphysvena and Opiomorph. Head east to buy items and gear parts. You
can also leave Merkava through this area, but you'll have to make your
walk back down through the previous sections again. When you're done,
head back west, save, then keep heading north to where you fought
Opiomorph. Jump in to find Deus.

There will be a scene, then you can begin your attack. You can save
fuel and HP by attacking Deus directly, but he will be very strong. You
could also kill off Deus' four support orbs. This will leave you
weaker, but Deus will also be weaker. The choice of attack is up to
you. If you have GNSR50's equipped, and you want Deus to be
challenging, you should de-equip them. When you're prepared, fly into
the enemy to begin the battle.

BOSS (Gear)
Metatron
HP: 45000
Exp: 3
Gold: 0
Treasure: none

He uses a move called 'Earthly Anointment' that can cause about 5000
damage, but other than that, he's not much to worry about. Use your
strongest attacks to take care of him. Beating him seals Deus'
'Earthly Anointment' move.

BOSS (Gear)
Sundel
HP: 25000
Exp: 3
Gold: 0
Treasure: none

Sundel will pick one gear to counter attack, and when anyone attacks
him, he will hit that gear. He will also sometimes heal himself. He
doesn't deal too much damage, so he's not much to worry about. Use the
same strategy to kill him. Beating him seals Deus' "Healing" ability.

BOSS (Gear)
Marlute
HP: 54000
Exp: 3
Gold: 0
Treasure: none

Marlute is a part of the floor, so you can't use your Deathblows. He
will steal your fuel, so try to make the battle end quickly. You can 30
Fuel Attacks, but he tends to block them and reduce their damage, so it
might be better to use 10 Fuel Attacks. Beating him seals Deus' "Fuel
Drain" move.

BOSS (Gear)
Harlute
HP: 45000
Exp: 3
Gold: 0
Treasure: none

Harlute will cast stop on two of your gears at the beginning of the
battle, but it will eventually wear off. His attacks can cause upwards
of 6000 damage, so try to kill him off quickly. Use your best attacks
to kill him. Beating him seals Deus' 'Heavenly Anointment' move.

BOSS (Gear)
Deus
HP: 40000-64000 (?)
Exp: 0
Gold: 0
Treasure: none

At the beginning of the battle, the gears at the ends of Deus' arms will
fly off, and they will counter attack if anyone hits Deus. The number
of Deus' moves and his HP depends on how many of the orbs you killed.
Hit him with your best attacks, and be sure to keep your HP up. When
you beat him, the battle ends in a scene.

There will be many more scenes. Eventually, you will get into the final
battle.

BOSS (Gear)
Urobolus
HP: 50000
Exp: 0
Gold: 0
Treasure: none

This fight isn't hard, she doesn't cause much damage. Just get to Hyper
Mode and use your best Infinity Attack. She'll soon die.

After the battle, there are some scenes, then about a half hour anime
scene. Afterwards are the credits.

Congratulations! You have beaten Xenogears!

XI. Credits and Thanks
************************************************************************

Credit should go to Scott Lee, who's charts I used as a structural guide
for mine.

Credit goes to honeydipps ([email protected]) for finding
two additional scenes, one in Bledavik after liberating Aveh, and
another in Margie's room on the Yggdrasil after the Snowfield Hideout
point in the game.

Credit goes to wizard of the doom (Raphael Ando) for the Alpha Weltall
boss strategy.

Credit goes to BradyGames for their excellent Official Xenogears
Strategy Guide, which I got the monsters' HP, and a few item
descriptions.

I would first like to thank CjayC for posting my guide on GameFAQs.com.

I would also like to thank my friend Phil for letting me borrow
Xenogears off of him. I would also like to thank him for his lack of
time which has kept him from really wanting it back, allowing me to keep
it for a couple of years now. If you're reading this, Phil, I'll give
it back whenever you want, if Billy doesn't get ahold of it first.

I would like to thank Squaresoft for making such a great game.

I would like to thank you, who has taken the time to stop and read this
guide.

I would also like to thank me, for without me, this guide would not have
been. Whether or not it should be, well, that remains to be seen.
